Reserving Park w/out hours posted

Hi everyone,
We are going in July and I see that we need to reserve which park we are going to go to for each day. Hours aren't posted yet. Would it be ok to wait or are these reservations filling up quickly and we have to make a decision now?

Also, does anyone know if extra magic hours might be in play too?

Thanks!

EMH of old are gone. Early entry for resort guests will probably come in later in the year, nearer to the 50th in October.

And they have been extending hours no more than 2 weeks out so any posted hours might not be the final ones. You can probably use the furthest out hours they’ve already posted as a guide. Those might have an hour or two added in the evenings.

I'd reserve now.
Nothing is certain if you wait.
Early entry may be a thing or it may not.
Booking and going during the pandemic you really have to just go with the flow.
I'm going late August and I'm booking soon and will reserve parks without the calendar being released.
I'm prepared for the now but hopeful that things could change by then.

We are going in July and booked in January and made park reservations then. With no EMH, we didn't really care what park we did what day other than avoiding Studios on the weekend. I would book now.

Just pick your parks now. Remember that extended hours doesn't necessarily mean more time to do more. It mostly likely would account for larger crowds with more waiting time in queues. You could still get just as much done with fewer hours if crowds were down.

How early do parks let guests in compared to the posted opening time. I’ve been watching vloggers that make it seem like an hour earlier. Anyone know?

Mostly about 45-60 minutes early, although sometimes closer to 30 minutes. Once in it’s luck as to what is actually open to ride, just depends what’s ready to go and what is still being checked.

Thanks for the reply. So it would be safe to plan on showing up and hour before opening and hoping for the best....being prepared to wait.
Edit: to confirm, that early half hour for resort guests did not begin right?

You PROBABLY don't need to rush, but there's really no reason to wait, either. You can reschedule as often as you want, so you're not locking yourself into anything. As soon as you have your tickets, make your reservations.

I’d reserve some park days as soon as possible. We are going in June and I wanted to rearrange my DHS days. Studios is shown at capacity from Monday June 7- Friday June 11!

Not to complicate things but the bummer could come if you start planning dinners around park closings (assumed or posted times).

So if you are like me and try to plan what you thought was a dinner after the Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 for a 7:20 at Whispering Canyon but realize they might be extending hours but they aren't updating the hours till way after the 60 day ADR time (which you must do considering the limited restaurant capacities) and then you realize there's a chance you might be missing out on any actual night time in the Magic Kingdom unless you dump your Whispering Canyon dinner because there is no way there will be another time available when they finally post the new extended hours to change your dinner plans.

I'm not complaining or anything though...;)

Book 2 dinner slots and cancel one when it gets closer

After seeing the hours starting to get extended, that would be the best move. Your'e still guessing at closing times but it's better than only having one option. This works well for out of park dining but not as well with in park dining. They won't offer a dinner at Skipper Canteen for 8:00 if MK is shown closing at 6:00. If you are like me and wanting to maximize your park time, you'd like to eat near park closing time so you make a ADR for 5:30. Then you have to hope if they extend the closing time to say 8:00, you find out the change in a timely manner and can quickly check for a later dining time. It's all about being flexible but it's hard right now to predict these park hours with the way they are changing them.
