Reserving Be Our Guest

Good luck. I have been trying to get a reservation for our trip in July for like a month and a half now. Every day. Several times a day. I'm hoping that when the 45 day mark hits some reservations will open up.

The computer system is not supposed to make that flip until 6am ET- one hour prior to the phones opening. I've done it 4x since 2010 and even at 5:59am it will tell me that I'm outside of the 180 day window. I don't think anyone is shunning technology...I just think the majority of us have found that the website will not permit booking at 12am.

Same with me. Last time I logged on and started trying to make reservations a couple of minutes before 6:00am. It told me I was too early: I kept refreshing and re-sending until, on the stroke of 6:00am, suddenly I was able to do it. And there was much rejoicing...

To the OP: keep trying, even up to 1-2 days before your trip. The credit card policy (charging $10/head if you miss your reservation, unless you call and cancel at least 24 hours beforehand) may have a few people canceling their dinner reservations exactly 1 day ahead, so there may some last-minute openings...

Plus, as others have said, it's always an option for counter-service lunch. The line forms quickly, so you may want to hang around New Fantasyland and hop in line when the crowds begin to gather.

I was equally frustrated. I decided to go to WDW in August after our 180 day window "opened". I couldn't get anything! Then on a random day I got a 9:00 dinner ADR. It is not ideal, I am still trying to change it, but at least its an option!

I'm normally not one to complain, I haven't been to WDW since 1997, so there are many dining choices that we haven't had yet. I'm staying on property and went to make my reservations at Be Our Guest for dinner 180 days out as was recommended to me. At 6:22am already all reservations were booked online and after making a quick phone call I discovered there were no tables available. How on EARTH is that possible. It's my understanding there is quite a bit of seating here and find it hard to believe that EVERYTHING was reserved in less than an hour for an entire day in October. Do they hold spots for special people or something? I don't get it. It's really disappointing.

The reservations were not booked in less than an hour, they were booked a few days before you. At the 180 day mark, you can book all of your reservations for your vacation. Going on a 10 day vacation, your last reservation will actually be 190 days out. It's too late now, but the best chance you have to get a good reservation at BOG would be to book it at the 180 day mark for the last evening of your vacation. I got a 5:30 PM for 11 people in June this way and called in around 9 am on my 180 day mark, they said I could have almost any time I wanted.

Keep trying, I hope you get it.

We were able to get BOG on the 4th day of our stay at 6:50pm, which means we'll miss part of the beginning of MNSHP, but it's the only time the CM could find during the first half of our stay. Once he found that, I had him book it and not look at the later half of the week, so I don't know if there were any other free times. I called right at 7am EDT on our 180-day mark. The CM said that BOG books up quickly, and I have no doubt that many people ADR-hoard. :(

I guess I'll keep checking as time gets closer. There was another issue booking a good time for dinner and I'm stalking that one for a better time too. The games we play just to eat dinner on vacation....
Good luck Disney friend! ;) I agree 100% that it just isn't fair, and a better "system" for booking these ADRs must be "figured out".
I am still trying to get a BOG cancellation! LOL.;) ( for our June trip).

The system won't let you book before 6. I'm surprised you had trouble, as I was able to get what we wanted and at the time we wanted on a September night.

your post is quite exciting to me, during MVMCP, the first hard ticket party event for which BOG was operational, it did not stay open during the party- only 4-5:30. now it looks like they've extended how late/close to party start, it accepts reservations.
this is good- even though reservtions probably end right at 7- party start, it looks like more hours available than for Christmas party.

anyone have a ressie for during the party? are they actually staying open? that would be great. but i suspect part of the reason you couldn't get ressie easily is because of the limited number of ressies available if indeed they are closed during the party.
wouldn't it be great if they did stay open, and only those with party tickets could get in? that would make it easier, but also means spending valuable party time in a restaurant I could visit for lunch....

If your plans are flexible, try to get a table once you are on property. I have done this many times, in a variety of 'hard to get' places, and have had much success.
