Reservations Question

I'm so stupid sometimes it escapes me how I function, but after only 1 year I've forgotten. When you make reservations at a WDW resort, isn't there something like a $100.00 deposit that is charged? IE: I'll need a credit card to make reservations won't I?

It's been a couple of years but I think the deposit is one night's cost but we could send it in when we got the confirmation in the mail. That's only if you're more than 30 or 45 days away from your trip.

It's a $100 deposit if you are making your reservations through the Disney Club. If you are making them through the normal reservations or using your annual passport discount one night's deposit is required for each resort.

Hey all Correct me if I am wrong but I think it is like $200 deposit for a package type of reservation (including tickets) and one night's stay if it is a room only reservation. Also pay attention to the cancellation policy as with the package plan, some of them have to be changed or altered 45 days before your arrival date or you could end up paying penalties. Good luck!! When we booked ours last month, it was $200 deposit and the rest was due 45 days before the first day of the reservation. If you make the reservations from the internet, yes you do need a credit card. I think you don't need a credit card if you call in for your reservations, but I have not booked mine that way.

Let me clariffy....

If you make a ROOM ONLY reservation through The Central Reservations Office (CRO) then you need to leave a deposit of one nights stay. The deposit is fully refundable up to 5 days prior to arrival.

If you book a package through the Walt Disney Travel Company then you will be charged a 200 dollar deposit that is refundable up to 45 days prior to arrival.

Please make sure you call the right place because there have been cases where people have lost deposits by making their room only reservation through the Walt Disney Travel Company.

To answer your other question...no you do not need a credit card to pay the deposit. If you call to make your reservation they will send you confirmation papers that will have something that you can mail back with a check. It is easier to do with a credit card, but it is not neccesary.
