just applied to the DRC (post diningpocalypse), and am wondering if anyone has any insight to the work environment there? thanks! :wave:

My friend works there and loves it. They do have sales goals that you have to meet to stay employed.

i assumed there would be some sort of goal, but i would love to know how they work. is it thru additional dining reservations or experiences? adding the DDP? i never feel like anyone is trying to "sell" me on anything when i've made reservations in the past.

There's an average $ per hour goal you have to meet in a rolling month. The nice thing is it's incentive based, so surpass your goal and bring a bonus check home! To be honest, it's not so much sales (inbound calls, afterall), but how many calls can you take in an hour. Move quickly and make lots of money. The incentives can be VERY lucrative for an entry level job, especially when working overtime.

There are different "communities" and they each have different goals. Some communties deal with folks that haven't been before or just a few times and focus on rooms, tickets, dining plans.

There's a "dedicated" branch for worldphiles that likely talk to people from this forum that have been dozens or hundreds of times and might be looking for more into tours and other recreation and don't likely have as many questions.


You've also got a travel agent section and one for dining and recreation.



In addition to having an average $ per hour goal, you also have your calls monitored and how much time you are properly in the phone queue. You have to have a passing grade for the month to get your bonus (I think) even if you pass your target goal.

DRC also gets perks that other WDW cast members don't always get. Not all of DRC gets them either (makes people quite jealous).

There are different contests periodically depending on how bad sales are suffering that if you can get someone to upgrade to DDP or resort category or something like that then you can get an extra "prize", but I don't know exactly how they work. If the entire community or sales floor meets the goal, then an extra party or gift is given.
