Rescheduling Trip to Sept '22. Which week to go?

My family and I have to reschedule our trip from March to September. We've never been in September so I don't know what to expect besides the heat, rain, possible hurricanes and low crowds. We are looking at the following two weeks:

Week of September 18
Week or September 25

Which week would you go? What is your reasoning for either week if you have one. Any other thoughts would be great!

Notes: We are using DVC points and can't book until February. Our baby will be 17 months by that age and will be the first time traveling to Disney with a child.

Both of those weeks are similar weather wise. We have gone several times in September and enjoyed all of them. We were lucky in that a few years ago the crowds were lower and we only encountered rain one time. Luckily no hurricanes but it was warm and spent a good deal of time at the pool.

I would probably go the 18th, but you may have reasons to go the second week. I don’t know if Disney is planning anything for October 1, 2022. If so, the last half of that second week could be a little busier.

We took our daughter (now 4.5) for her first and only (stupid Covid) trip when she was 18 months old. She LOVED it. She was young enough to still be carried and chill in the stroller, but old enough to enjoy rides and be excited by characters.

Either week should be a blast! Which resort are you staying at?

I don't have any particular reason to go the second week. Disney has been known to plan big events at the end of September so that's one hesitation but I probably wouldn't let it stop me.

That's great to hear about her enjoying it at 18 months. We think she's going to have a blast!

We are booking DVC and the 7 month mark is in February so we'll have to wait. Top 3 choices are Beach Club, Grand Flo and Bay Lake Tower.

Awesome! Yea I figured either week will be fine. The 18th does offer cheaper flights and tickets so we might do that.

Weather wise the difference in the 2 weeks will be negligible. When weve gone in Sept there were trips with lots of rain and others with barely a shower. Keep an eye on the weather sites to give you a heads up for what you will be encountering. Tropical weather seasons will vary in intensity. Temps can vary from low 70s to low 90s. Crowd wise Sept has no longer been the month with very low crowds, a lot of guests are booking now because thats what they are hoping for and they encounter a heavier crow level when they get there.

We need time for things to happen.
As far as weather is concerned @JIMINYCR is right we've been a couple of times during September and one year it wouldn't stop raining and one year we didn't see a drop. I found the crowds to be moderate and similar to our visits in early May.

As far as which week, in this case my advice would be "the sooner the better" :)

Of those three I’d definitely lean toward BLT, but any would be fine. And I would bet you’ll be ok booking at 7 months, though I assume you booked something at your home resort already in case nothings available at those.
My DD LOVED A$S at MGM. She laughed and laughed as we spun around. She also really enjoyed dumbo. We did that so many times! My best advice is to hit those early hours. You can get a lot done with short waits.

Here she is waiting for Dumbo (it was December, thus the hat and coat).

We usually go right after Labor day. Crowds are lower and weather is tolerable
One year we got caught up with the hurricane so had to readjust our plans but Disney was very accommodating
I don’t think you can go wrong with September. Enjoy!
