Rescheduling Oct 2021 trip....

After way too much thought, I am going to reschedule my Oct 30 - Nov 6 trip to sometime next year. I am thinking of either early Nov (5-12) or Dec (3-10). Any comments on these dates? I see that Veterans Day falls on Friday Nov 11, I'm not sure if that has an impact on the parks. I am rescheduling due to Covid and the fact that I am immune compromised due to Multiple Myeloma (stem cell transplant). Aside from the parks, I will be taking the Auto Train and the thought of being on that for 15 hours with it's generally poor ventilation, is not too comforting with the virus situation. The train is a must as I travel with my daughter who is special needs (age 30) and she will not fly and the car drive is too long, coming from PA.
I have been going to WDW since the 70s, with most of the trips in January and most recently since 2010 during Halloween...time for a change.
(and I am hoping I can return 5 tickets to Halloween night!!!) Jay

Honestly, I think you are doing the right thing if you are immune compromised. There is just too much of Covid spread happening in Florida right now.

I worked in Disney from January until May in 2007 for the College Program. You sure know that January is the absolute BEST time to go for crowd control! Nobody is around. I think early November would be my choice, but you will run into crowds for the longer weekends like Veterans Day.

All the best to you and stay well!

Good thought. The impact of Veterans Day on a Friday is that it is a Federal holiday so would be a three-day weekend for many. So there would be a greater impact on Friday than normal.

Sorry to hear about your trip. It’s totally understandable. We have a trip planned mid-October, but it’s looking iffy for us too. We have a big group with lots of unvaccinated little kids.
Let us know if Disney refunds your Boo Bash tickets.

Good luck with rescheduling. Dec is past hurricane season and Christmas will be in full swing if that's important not to mention avoiding a federal holiday and Jersey Week

Dec 3 - 10 would be my first choice followed by Nov 5- 12 next. Either beats the worst of the holiday crowding, but more people have started going pre holiday weeks just to try avoiding the holiday crunch. Crowds will be higher from the after covid desire to travel to Disney and the extra length of the 50th anniversary celebration.

I rescheduled the trip to Nov 30th to Dec 7th, 2022 (Wed to Wed). I still have to deal with the AutoTrain but at least the rooms are secure. As far as the Boo Bash tickets, the CM said that they can be applied to whatever party will take place during the new dates....I'll make a separate call to ticketing and see if that is correct.

I did hear a rumor, and I'll try and find it that Amtrack is trying to upgrade the ventilation systems on all their trains. so hopefully that will be less stress for you next year.
Happy vacationing

Hmm. Keep a sharp eye out for prices next year. If they return to the regular parties, will the ticket prices be reduced to prior levels (accounting for inflation, of course, cough)? Will you be entitled to use a Boo Bash ticket for a MNSSHP ticket and get a refund for the difference? That is, if they're honest enough to go with that route or just retain the Boo Bash ticket prices for the parties.
