We are looking at resales of BCV.

One thing I've noticed is a lot of listings have used their 2008 points already, so we can buy the points we'd like, but can't use them until 2009.

Is it correct that the use year is when the vacation takes place, not when you reserve it? If we buy points that are available in August 2009, can we book a vacation for December 2009 11 months ahead of time, or do we need to wait for our first allotment of points to even book?

Further, are the other DVC benefits (annual passes, etc) generally available as soon as you are in the DVC system or are they point related?

Matt, you should be able to book your 2009 vacation as long as you will have 2009 points available. 11 months out.

Your "benefits" start when they put you into the system as an owner.

In addition, you could borrow your 2009 points to vacation during your 2008 use year.

I have been looking into purchasing DVC as well. Purchasing annual passes for discounted rates is one of the benefits that comes with ownership.
