Repeated Gags?

Okay I am bringing this up because after looking at a few pictures in the Photo Association thread I noticed something to which made me think of other rides.

So here it is: I get that Crows, Owls, Ravens, and Vultures can symbolize danger or harbingers of doom and peril but how many times is the Mouse going to use the bird gag before a large drop or scary point in an attraction?

Condors/Vultures - Expedition Everest, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Splash Mountain

Crows/Ravens - Haunted Mansion, Snow White's Scary Adventure

Owls - Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

I'm sure I am missing other uses of the bird thing as well as other reused gags so if you know of something I missed please feel free to share them below!

Actually, I was thinking about this the last time I rode Mermaid... Flotsam and Jetsam hover your car in the same way.. Basically like 'water vultures'... I agree with you..

Great observation! We should deconstruct the meaning of birds in Disney imagery.

So is there a story as to why the Imagineers made an homage to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho?

As noted above, it's probably just to pay homage to a film they like in an area that's thematically appropriate. Same reason why there's a tribute to It's A Wonderful Life at Echo Lake near Min & Bill's Dockside Diner.
