Repeated Gags?

Okay I am bringing this up because after looking at a few pictures in the Photo Association thread I noticed something to which made me think of other rides.

So here it is: I get that Crows, Owls, Ravens, and Vultures can symbolize danger or harbingers of doom and peril but how many times is the Mouse going to use the bird gag before a large drop or scary point in an attraction?

Condors/Vultures - Expedition Everest, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Splash Mountain

Crows/Ravens - Haunted Mansion, Snow White's Scary Adventure

Owls - Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

I'm sure I am missing other uses of the bird thing as well as other reused gags so if you know of something I missed please feel free to share them below!

No offense meant, just giving you a hard time. To me, "Hey, there are some birds." is an observation. Your post seems more like an analysis, but there's nothing wrong with that!

Yes and from my observation I was able to analyze that the Mouse has reused the same gag in a few attractions and in some cases the same exact gag! Seriously Vultures standing above you right before a drop (Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Splash Mountain).

Owls - Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

There's a reason for that...it's a tongue-in-cheek reference to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Naturally, they can't SAY "Psycho" because Universal, but that doesn't stop them from alluding to it, especially in a park devoted to great movies.

Tower of Terror has a nice spreadeagled owl statue in the lobby....

And in Psycho, when Norman gets to know Marion, there is a stuffed owl in a similar pose framed in the shot with him.

There's also another Psycho semi-reference outside...

Granted I think the in-story explanation is that it's Rod Serling's silhouette at ToT, but it's plain to see where they drew inspiration, especially in a park themed to great movies.

Did that video come out looking strange to anybody else?

For some reason it's showing up as a double image on this site, yet the YouTube version is fine.

Arggh...this computer is doing strange things..In two weeks I will have my new Dell.

So is there a story as to why the Imagineers made an homage to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho?
