Hi, I'm looking into going to Disneyland Paris for two days and I was wondering if anyone could give me tips so I can make the most efficient use of my time. I want to know what rides I must definitely hit and those that I can pass up. Those include rides that are sufficiently similar to their counterparts in WDW.

Good places to eat would also be welcome.

And are there fireworks? Disneyland's website doesn't mention them.

Thank you! :animwink:

Prepeare to be in familiar, but new surroundings. Walking off the hub and seeing BTM straight ahead is one, and PM being where the JC should be is another.

Fireworks - only in summer season; 4th July thru end of August. Same for Fantillusion. If you are able to, aim for this time to visit for these reasons, the weather and long park hours. Crowds will be heavy but hey.

Attractions - do not miss Phantom Manor, Big Thunder, Pirates, small world, Buzz or Space Mountain in DLP. Do not miss RnRC, Armageddon, Cinemagique, ToT or Crush's Coaster is WDSP.

Try your best not to miss the Fantasyland dark rides (Peter Pan especially - very popular) or Temple of Peril is DLP, or Animagique in the studios.

Star Tours and HISTA are identical to WDW, with Star Tours in french and HISTA having english dialogue in headphones. Adventure Isle, the Treehouse and Storybookland are fun if you have time. Same for the Labrynth. Note - try Casey Jr for fun - the prototype Soundtracker audio system is still used. Animation at WDSP is okay if you have time, Stitch Encounter is Turtle Talk, and the backstage tram is okay with an almost identical Cat Canyon, and am interesting Reign of Fire set.

Eats... fast food is very good. For formal I`d say Blue Lagoon (in PotC) is not that good food wise but for ambience you can`t beat it. Walts on MSUSA is a better bet for sit downs.

Phew... late July? 2 days minimum, 3 if you can. You`ll have long park hours, Fantillusion (night parade) and also fireworks too. Parks will be busy, so use FP where you can. 2 days Disneyland Parc and one day at the Studios - again, if you can. Remember to hit Crush at WDSP as soon as the park opens if not before, and get a ToT FP as soon as possible. Also aim for an early Moteurs Action! if you like incase the weather turns later, like in Orlando.

In DLP SM:M2 needs a FP unless you get there at rope drop, as does Peter Pans Flight (!). BTM is best done with FP, Indy generally dosn`t need it. 3 days will let you do your favourites more than once and not run round like a mad person.

Hey, Martin. Big fan.

Thanks for the reply. Since this is our first trip to France, we're probably only going to be able to squeeze 2 days for Disney. We have been to WDW over 20 times though and DL four times (just last weekend as a matter of fact) so we are pretty savvy with the FP thing.

It really helps to know what we should see and what we should skip based on familiarity with WDW. We'll rank our must do's based on your recomendation and do what we can. After that, we'll just enjoy the atmosphere. Hey, we've got to have a reason to go back!

We're also going to do a day trip to Versailles (sp?) and try a day trip to Normandy. The rest (two or so days) we'll see the sights in Paris.

Thanks for the advice!

Ed,

You`re welcome

PM me with any specifics, transport etc.

Remember, PotC, HM (Phantom Manor), BTM, the dark rides and SM:M2 are very different to WDW and are worthy of bring high on your list. Same for Moteurs Action!, RnRC and ToT. Aim for a very first thing until they kick you out day at Disneyland Parc, get to the Studios before rope drop, and then see if you have time left to hop back to DL if you need to. At the end of July the hours are showing as DL parc 10am - 11pm and WDSP 10am - 7pm. Fant and Fireworks should kick in the first week of July.

Thanks! That's definitely on our must-do list.

I've been trying to figure out what we are going to do in Paris. You guys have been so helpful that DLP is about the only place I feel like I have semi-figured out. ;>

BTW, Lance is riding his bike through Paris on the Sunday that we are there. I'm torn between, 'OMG, we've got to see that!" and 'OMG, we're going to run in the opposite direction!"
