Renting DVC Points - How brokers get points

We have rented points through David's a couple times, and we have nothing but good experiences.

I am currently trying to rent points for a split stay this summer (Boardwalk/Poly), and I am on the wait list for points to come available for the Poly stay. I've been waiting a cople weeks, and I am a couple weeks from falling into the 7 month window. I don't really know if that will help or hurt me...

My question is, do the brokers have to wait for sellers to approach them individually or is there a pool that they all have access to? If the sellers have to go straight to a specific broker, then which brokers tend to have the most points to work with?

Owners approach the brokers if they have points to rent out.

The two main brokers are David’s (DVCRequest) and DVC Rental Store.

Of these, on principle I have only used David’s. Last time I checked I think David’s paid owners a little more but they also take much less of a cut. The Rental Store do a lot more confirmed reservations and increase the price per point on them so that the broker makes more profit.
