I am planning a trip to WDW in January. I am planning on renting a car. I would prefer an rental agency onsite at MCO. Anyone have any advice on a good economical rental car agency? Thanks for all the help.

I might be incorrect, but I belive Budget is the cheapest on site at the airport. It is much easier to rent from on of the car rentals at MCO rather then off-site or one you need to take a shuttle to. Everytime I have been there the lines for Budget are very long. I usually rent from National. National is more expensive, but the waits not as bad.

We usually rent from National Rental. Hey, and if you are a Disney Club member I think you get about 20% off. You will have to check the Disney club site to be sure.

we went with budget on our last trip and were very pleased. I rented the car online. renting it online I got the ford ranger. the online price is cheaper then getting it at the counter. I had everything set before getting there. they ran out of the car that I had book but since I booked online I got the free upgrade. I reserved the ford ranger but got upgraded to a nissan frontier quad cab for the same price. I was very pleased. www.budget.com

Hey Kim,

We rented a car down at MCO in July for 10 days! You'll be surprised at the prices; however, the best rates are with L&M Rental. I know they aren't a very well known agency like Dollar, Hertz or National. We have the Disney Club card as well and their discounts weren't that great (although it was something).
Their website is: http://www.lmcarrental.net/main.html.

We used them for the first time in July and they were great...no line to get the car, got a very nice car (meaning very clean and it was smoke-free) and returning the car was very simple too.

Hope this helps. Email me if you have any question!:)

I just got back on Tues. I used Alamo and got the best deal from them. I searched for months and got it through Orbitz. It is no at the airport but they provide a shuttle that is maybe 10 minutes away. It was not an inconvienience at all.

My family rented from Dollar in June. No wait and got a free upgrade. Make sure you check Mousesavers.com for low rates. We have also rented from Alamo in the past. When we did rent from Alamo I found it much easier to leave my wife and kids at the airport while I went for the car. When it was time to leave Florida I dropped my wife and kids off at the airport with the luggage and then returned the car.

I always rent a car when I go to Disney and have found to consistently get the best deals at Alamo. If you book online from Alamo's website, you can find better deals than going through Expedia or Travelocity. Also, if you have the time, keep checking back because they always change the rates. The most beneficial aspect of renting from Alamo, besides the the good deals, is it is located right at the airport. There is no shuttle to board. They also let you choose which vehichle you want.... which is always fun.

I'm usually dedicated to my National Emerald Club but I couldn't beat Thrifty's rates next week for a Grand Cherokee. For 8 days, it was under $235 after taxes. My National Emerald card (with all the BJs discounts I could sneak in) came in @ $295 for only an intermediate (or larger if available).

For three adults with a full suitcase and carryon each, the intermediate would be just a tad small.

There is no more Disney Club, it ended 12/31/03. It was more like 10%.
alamo is now the official rental car of WDW, you can get a discount with your annual pass, bj's or sam's club. Check www.mousesavers.com for more discount codes for all the agencies.

For National, try the Pricelessvacations contract id of 6600330. You can combine this with any coupon you may have.

The Disney club did end a while ago and so did this person trip. It ended almost two years ago. Maybe they could rent a time travel rent a car and go back in time.

I do apologize. I did not notice the dates. Sorry to offend. Going back in time would be a GREAT IDEA!!!!!
I will learn this board yet.
