Man the curmudgeons love to curmudgeon...

I went in with lower expectations than normal I really enjoyed Remy's. Putting the 3D glasses down, there isn't a big difference from Remy's to MMRR, but MMRR seems to carry a much higher reputation.

Maybe I'm easy to please, but I loved them both.

BUT why choose that film for a ride in the first place when other famed ideas associated with France are available.

Because the ride already existed in Paris, so could be cloned. And presumably cheaper than it would have cost to clone Tokyo’s BatB ride.

I too went in not expecting much and did really enjoy it. My kids when small loved the movie, now on the other hand I was not a big fan of MMRW, I just enjoyed Remy more. The ride system I knew about but I could care less about that unless it causes a problem.

I thought it was cute but that was it. We were going to fly out for the day to see it with an AP preview. Then family showed up unexpectedly and the weather looked to be lousy so we canceled. Glad we did. While it is cute, it wasn't worth a trip like that.

Good point! I noticed hundreds of guests with a Remy riding on their shoulder. You know, a plush doll with a magnet in its base that sticks to a metal plate you put on your shoulder under your shirt. Like the Banshees in Pandora, but cheesier.

o didn’t think the ride was bad at all. i’ll admit i do prefer animatronics over movie screens. more realistic imo.

I thought it was a decent ride. Some of the physical effects like the water splashes and external heat should be effects added to MMRR. That ride has scenes where you're both underwater and near a volcano.

It. Just. Makes. Sense!!

At least MMRR has seat rumbles to simulate the sensations of falling and going over railroad tracks. The Rat RVs actually tilt and stuff.

I haven not ridden it yet, but I don't have high hopes for it either. I also think the new Mickey ride is only cute at best.
