Not that this has anything to do with WDW, but its worth mentioning.

Visionsfantastic.com reports that Disneyland's fireworks display, Remember...Dreams Come True, will discontinue at the end of April.

I wonder what DL will create as a replacement?

probably just Fantasmic!

Disneyland doesn't do Fireworks each night like WDW. And there are many more differences in their entertainment offerings. (like Aladdin only playing 5 days per week)

Nope, it is Remember. Wikipedia is also reporting it will discontinue as well. A new show is expected this summer.

(I hope this doesnt mean anything for Wishes at MK).

I was responding to Figment's post above about not seeing fireworks....not Fantasmic!

And this will have no effect on Wishes

Disneyland has gone without a castle fireworks show before, and they will again, no big deal, Fantasmic was actually created to be the big nightime show, in a different setting.

Funny how the end show is May 16, which will give the show a few days over a 4 year life. (it premiered on 5-5-05.) so 5-5-05 to 5-16-09, not a bad life for that show.

May 16th?!

A day before I come home. Dang it. I wanted to say good bye. :(

Apparently it's going to be replaced with a fireworks show called Magical.

I'm too lazy to find the article right now...

Al has a bit on his new artical with rumors of it also incorperating Dumbo to fly, and a confetti filled finale. All is still remains to be seen but it would be the greatest thing to see Dumbo flying over the castle.

Dumbo??? I somehow find that hard to believe that Disney would replace Tinker Bell with Dumbo for their fireworks display.

Any idea when it premiers?
It's for the 55th, so probably not for a while.

Please stand by while I find the article.

Dumbo? Confetti?

Odd.

I need to read his new article.

I heard that it was this summer?

And yeah, very odd. I really don't see that happening.
Yeah, I was wrong. This was all I could find:

Just in time for the summer, the replacement for the 50th Anniversary fireworks show, Remember.... Dreams Come True, will be premiering: Magical, a New Fireworks Spectacular."

I don't see it happening either. Why would you need confetti during a fireworks show? Dumbo sounds really cheesy.

Edit: but then again, what do I know? Maybe Dumbo will work and look great. I guess we'll see.

opps maybe I should have posted this in the first place :)
The final big element to the new summer campaign will be the debut of the new fireworks show dubbed Magical!

We've told you previously why Remember had its plug pulled, as a recent example of the operational needs of the park trumping the sometimes unrealistic wants of the wildly creative types. Magical is shaping up to be a better replacement for Remember than the underwhelming street party was for the Parade of Dreams however.

Magical will be shorter than the 17 minute long Remember, clocking in at about 12 minutes, but they are trying to add in as many new effects as possible that don't close attractions or walkways. The concepts still being thrown around late in the game include a flying Dumbo character sharing cable time with Tinkerbelle, and a confetti filled finale' on Main Street USA. We'll keep you posted, but this recessionary summer is proving Disneyland can still pull a few tricks out of its sleeve even when money is tight.

But best part of this artical is the possibility of POD returning for afternoon runs and Celebrate! at night, I think that would would out quite well Celebrate! already has the LED lights on the floats plus all the new ones they put on top of the current parade lights.

That's my favorite part, too.

I miss POD. I think it could work.
