Relive the Magic

Hello, I'm new to posting here, but I thought I'd ask the group... does anyone know anything about these "Relive the Magic" DVD sets that boast the detailed dvd sets of the parks that you can relive at home? I see the popups all the time on different Disney sites. I looked into the website: but I wanted to know if other people have bought from them, or if they are just a big rip off. Does anyone know?

Thanks for reading!

They're severely overpriced. Most of them are just home video quality. From what I've seen they are not professional by any means. Certainly not worth the hefty pricetag they bring.

Well, it says it only costs $9 dollars. I searched and found some older posts with people paying a lot more, I wonder why they are so low, now.

I bought the 20 disc DVD set of WDW that included alot of the rides and shows from the parks, walk arounds of the resorts and Downtown Disney. This cost me $30. Alot of the DVD's had the problem where it looked very pixel-ated.

IMO, even though a few of the shows and things are ruined by this, I did well, as not many of these are like this in my case. But I don't think it's worht the money or the fuss to get it returned and so on.

I was very very very disappointed in the little bit I watched of mine. I bought only the Magic Kingdom set, because all I wanted was to surprise my wife with "Wishes." When we were in WDW, I taped about one minute of "Wishes," not thinking that the entire show itself was something we'd want to save and cherish.

Well, I later bought the Relive The Magic discs, and the quality was just terrible. I think the people selling it have a lot of nerve charging money for it. The little snippet of "Wishes" that I shot with my little point-and-shoot digital still camera (using the video feature) was far superior to any other one minute snippet on the DVD.

In the "Wishes" section of the disc, the first thing that I noticed was bad was the vantage point, the angle. If you were going to videotape "Wishes" for the purpose of selling it (let alone for your own use!), where would you put yourself and your camera? Of course, you'd go somewhere in The Hub. Well, the videographer of the DVD was deep enough into Main Street to have Casey's Corner (on the left) and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor (on the right) obscure the side views of the fireworks, and for the Christmas 2005 garland strung across the street to obscure some of the fireworks, AND for a portion of a tree to obscure even more of the fireworks. On top of all of that, there was someone several feet in front of the camera with a child on his shoulders, obscuring yet even more of the fireworks.

If all this wasn't bad enough, the video often halted and "pixelated." At first I thought that might be a function of my not-the-best DVD player, but I then tried the DVD on a different DVD player and on my computer, all with the same results.

I'm so glad I bought only one park and not the entire set. I didn't even bother watching other sections of the MK set because I just didn't want to subject myself to it.

Like I said, in my opinion, the people selling this ought to be ashamed of themselves. The product was a very big disappointment.

You can expect a "Wishes" Ultimate Tribute extravaganza video at MouseBits sometime this side of Christmas (I Hope) - for free, as always

This should help anyone reading decide. On July 22nd I placed my order for the 4 park, 16 disc boxed set for the amazingly low price of $10  2 weeks went by before I realized my order still hadn't shown up. So I send e-mail #1 (this should be clue 1 to run like hell) asking about my order. They apologize for the delay and state the order was going out and they offer me a 50 % discount on a future order. O.k stuff happens I'm willing to give them a chance to make good. 2 more weeks go by, still no order at my door. Off goes e-mail #2, cause hey, inquiring minds wanna know. This time I'm told UPS must have lost the package and they would resend my order at their cost. Personaly I wanted to stop there and just get a refund. On August 24th I receive a small envelope enclosing 7 discs in their own little protective envelope along with a note that "due to increased demand for this amazing item your set has been condensed to 7 dvd's. This was done only to ensure as fast a delivery as possible". Yeah, only a month late already. And it's not in the nice box packaging featured on their web page. Now I'm flippin. Off goes e-mail #3 now demanding an immediate refund on myorder and the postage it was going to cost to send their stinking product back. I clearly stated no discounts wanted, I don't want to wait for the regular box set, I flat out want my money back no b.s this time. Lo and behold they return my e-mail stating they were going to credit my card and NOT to bother sending back the discs. The 1st 2 e-mails they remindied me how I was getting this fantastic price and a set that others had previously paid upwards of $60. Now they point out that I have now gotten the set for free while others have paid upward of $60.

Buyer beware is all I can say. Learn from my story. I will NEVER EVER under any circumanstances attempt to do business with these con artists again.

I thank everyone for their responses. I have decided not to purchase from this company, as there are so many available video clips online and because of some many shady reviews of their business practices. I knew I could come here for some great advice.

Thanks everyone!

Same thing happened to me. They condensed the set & put it into the garbage sleeves. I have sent them several emails with no response yet. Since it was put on my credit card I contacted the credit card company & filed a claim with them.

STAY AWAY. BEWARE!

The quality you can get from mousebits & the people there far exceeds the Relive the Magic garbage.
