Hello current and former cast members. I am writing this because I would like opinions. A few years ago I started working for Disney and it was great I was in quick service food service at French Quarter Port orleans. It was awesome I got a lot of guest compliments on the Disney app and my leaders loved the work I did. I was an idiot and accepted a transfer to attractions to go to Toy Story Mania. A lot of people warned me that Toy Story manias leaders were not the best and that alot of people transfered out or got fired or quit. I was just excited to be offered full time I didnt listen. Not thinking about why they were so desperate for people. I was working in the room witht the mr potatoe head talking to the crown with the buttons we press. I stupidly was checking my phone on updates on my dads health he had a stroke at the time and has since passed away from complications. I was caught with my phone brought into the Roy o building wrote a statement and they terminated me. They said I was a restricted re hire. I could be re hired in 12 months if I do a good job someplace else in the mean time. For 6 months it was restrcited re hire I checked every now and then the confirm. I forgot to return my costumes becasue I was so busy with my new job I literally forgot. Then out of no where it changed I called and asked and they said I was a no re hire now. I returned all the costumes and even paid for the ones I lost. I re applied today. And its still a no re hire. So I will have to appeal it to try and get a second chance. I owned up to it and admited i messed up. I helped one of the senior recruiters at jc penney when I was working there. She said I was one of the nicest customer service reps she ever met and the only one who had a big smile trying to help others. I was more sad because I felt toy story manias leaders were not honest with me and changed the restricted re hire status to no re hire to get back at me some how. I should of stayed in french quarter port orleans. I have grown and changed a lot since then. I no longer bring my phone to work and I just work and clean. I am praying after the appeal they will accept and give me another chance. Let me proove to them I am still a hard working person who enjoys bringing magic to the guest vacations. Prayers for me if you dont mean I need a miracle I really want to work for disney again.

The lost costumes are considered theft, even though you returned them and reimbursed the company.

Theft is a permanent no-rehire with TWDC.

Sorry for the bad news.

Disney can't deduct the lost costumes on the CM last paycheck ?

They can absolutely. But there's a major disconnect between how different parts of the company work.

Its really sad that Disney does not recognize someone like you who is clearly passionate about working as a cast member at WDW.

Universal Orlando will really, really need good people like yourself for EPIC Universe. Please consider applying there.

Its ironic that WDW who REQUIRES THEIR GUESTS to be constantly on their phones to experience their parks would terminate a good cast member for checking their phone.

You should definitely contact them to do an appeal. It's possible for it to be lifted. It happened for me.

My husband was a security guard for Disney for 2 years, with no problems or warnings, and for a special event was assigned a gate he had only worked twice before, by himself, directing traffic was quickly backing up, didn’t check the app for allowed bus vendors for that gate. Two supervisors were going through at the same time the bus driver told him he was there to pick up employees. Turns out the bus was at the wrong gate. The supervisors didn't stop or inform him, they just followed the bus and didn't talk to him about it until days later, then they tell him the incident is being investigated. A month goes by without any mention to him about the investigation or his status. After a month they call him in for a meeting, he has no idea what it's about until he walks through the door. Then after the meeting was over and he was escorted to his car he realizes he needed to have a union steward in the meeting, asks when he can have the steward participate and is told he should have had the steward when he walked through the door. He finds out he later they tell him he's suspended following the investigation, however when he gets home he gets an email notification from Disney Corp canceling his Disney plus account and notifying him that his status is discharged. The supervisors never stopped to clarify or inform and he didn't get three warnings ahead of this last meeting. He called the same manager that called him into a meeting a month after incident with no updates and who is now supposed to schedule a meeting for him with a union steward, but I'm concerned there are deadlines and procedures my husband isn't aware of, or any information regarding doing an appeal. This just happened day before yesterday. He has been a paramedic, and is a registered ER nurse for over 20 years, is responsible, calm, smart and this job was perfect for his skill set, and temperament. How can he appeal and get his job back?
