on a more personal note,

my dad died in 2000 of leukemia, so to anyone who joins this race, thank you. And if you can't, but even briefly considered it, thank you too!

If my ankle wasn't shot to hell, I'd be running in this.

hey rob when is the actual race. Even though it would take me a long time to finish i would love to do it. Maybe my whole family can do it since we only live two hours away. And rob are you doing the parade at Epcot this Saturday? Is it worth seeing?

If I'm correct it on Oct. 13. If my knees weren't shot to hell, I'd be in it.

As for epcot parade.. I don't do it anymore. I have permanent back and ankle damage for being injured in the parade. As for seeing it, if you've seen ToN, then I don't recommend you see ToD, unless you have kids along, in which case I say sure

I've been considering this run for a couple of months. I didn't know what it benefited. Now that I know it's leukemia I will certainly try. My uncle died of it just before my twins were born. This will give me something worthwhile to train for.:) Plus I'm only about 6hours away in north Florida.

If it was just a month later I would DEFINITELY run!
I am a runner and love to race and racing through Disney is my dream.

Do you know if there are any races Nov 7 - 17 of this year?

The initial injury was caused by... well, to be blunt, Management stupidity. It was raining backstage, but not on the parade route, so we were sent out. Management failed to realize that rain clouds can move, and towards the end of my pass (like less than 100 feet left!) I slipped and fell backwards. Diagnosis was hairline fracture on my right ankle, sprained left ankle, 2 slipped discs in my back, and a chipped C3 vertebrae, as well as a headache from hell. I had back spasms for the next 2 days, and stiff back/neck to this day

Strangely enough though, this injury wasn't enough in Managements eyes to remove me from the parade, and it was all I was scheduled at WDW for over 2 months... in which every day I worked I left to go home early due to back pain. Finally, I was granted permission by workers comp to go and see a specialist, and now I go once a month to update my restrictions.

As for what I'm doing, my only restriction is no costume with a backpack harness (ie. NO ToD and certain puppets) so I can still do everything else on property

J/K man.....I have HORRIBLE knees....very little cartilage left in them, so I kinda....kinda....feel your pain.
