Refurbishments

Just coming to this thread to see what the HM status might be. My DH believes the Haunted Mansion should be the Haunted Mansion and not NBC for Halloween. If they skip it we will plan an October trip.

I can’t imagine they would want to take down the mansion this year after such a long park closure, so many fans will want to ride the original and refurbished mansion.

That's what my thinking is. There is still too much to sort out regarding park operations, to make it worth the bother of doing the install this year. However, when I mentioned it a frequent DLR visitor friend of mine, she insisted more people would be upset with no overlay. So that led me to the thread.

calling it now: this will be the year disney tries out no holiday overlays and then, if it works, cuts them due to budget

They may opt to take a pass this year purely because of the logistics of everything right now, but there's no way they'll cut Small World or Haunted Mansion Holiday overlays permanently. They're too popular with the general public (I can't remember the last time I've seen a line for regular Mansion that looked anything like the HMH line the one time I was able to make it out for Halloween) and are centerpieces of the resort's Christmas offerings.

As much as we are jaded about them here, they're still very, very popular with most of the public.
