It seems the Disneyland Resort is going to continue with heavy refurbishment schedules as they move toward the 50th Anniversary! I'm definitely psyched for my August 2005 trip!
Current Scheduled Refurbishments:

Magic Kingdom
Peter Pan's Flight closed through May 28.
Adventureland restrooms closed through May 1.
Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through closed indefinitely.
Space Mountain closed through 2005.
Pirates of the Caribbean closed May 3 – 7.
Alice in Wonderland closed June 1 – July 3.
Sleeping Beauty Castle closed June 21 – October 2.
Snow White's Scary Adventures closed August 23 – September 11.
Enchanted Tiki Room closes September 8 – October 30.
Haunted Mansion closed September 13 – October 1 for installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay.
Matterhorn Bobsleds closed September 13 – November 5.

I just want to thank you for these postings you do from time to time! Matterhorn needs it bad. Seems to be breaking down very often lately. I wonder if it will make it through summer.

And it looks like Fantasyland is getting a lot of touch up work done to it. I wonder if Pinocchio and Mr Toad will go down after those.

Boy you scared me there for a minuite. I thought you were talking about the MK in WDW. I mean a lot of good rides would have been closed while I was going. That would have been a bummer.

Hooray! Thanks for the update! :)

This may sound weird, but I'm so psyched for the Matterhorn and Sleeping Beauty Castle rehabs. They both need it very badly. Hopefully they have a permanent fix in mind for the Matterhorn's troubles...

After Matterhorn's very lengthy rehab a little over a year ago, they wanted to open the ride as quickly as possible, leaving it in its current, unfinished state. This refurbishment will finish what was supposed to happen then, and possibly (note *possibly*) add Fastpass. All of Main Street USA is on the books for a rehab, continuing down the street as it has been for a couple months now. Every building will be completely remodled by May 2005. I would expect Splash Mountain to have a rehab this winter, as well.

Meanwhile, California Adventure continues to be neglected...now that Superstar Limo and Francis' Lady Bug Boogie have no scheduled date to reopen (they both have the infamous "closed indefinitely" status...sigh). I wish they would fix the trains on Cali Screamin' and clean up this park in general...it's far too young to be heading downhill. Hopefully it will get much needed attention in Winter/Spring 2005 right before the 50th.

They took SSL off the list; no longer May 18 (or so) opening? That stinks. I wanted to ride it (never got to before it closed.) Also wanted to tape it since I am sure that one is headed for the scrap heap soon.

Honestly, I really don't think the Matterhorn needs FP. The line tends to move very quickly anyways. I'd rather see them put the money into fixing up the attraction itself.

Well, I just feel Matterhorn could use Fastpass more than some of the other attractions that have it, like Haunted Mansion (I realize it was added due to Haunted Mansion Holiday, it just seems unnecesary) or Pirates.

I would say a 45-minute wait is worthy of Fastpass more than the normal 13-minute wait for the Haunted Mansion is. That was my point. And Fastpass was supposed to be added to Matterhorn during its extended rehab in 2002, but it didn't happen.

well yes it is really lame...

how to start off... lets see.. well first the waiting area u see tv with joan rivers stating that they are waiting for an arrival of a superstar. well then u get in to a limo and it takes u around the city (this is how cheesy it is... it's all card board well most of it is... well to me it seems that way) movie stars are on the streets talking to you... and well in the end the superstar that they are waiting for was u...

hope this explains it

Aug 24..

Right now Disneyland Web Site lists both Francis Lady Bug Boogie and Superstar closed until, well, the 24th of August whereafter the resort doesn't post any more information.

The Lady Bug boogie was cool! (but could hear the gears a grinding when I was on it).

And Kirsten...seriously....Matterhorn no fastpass? I refuse to wait 45 minutes for a ride! Splash? Always a single rider. Indy? Same deal. As an APer I have no patience :p
