Refrigerators being installed in Value Resorts

"Beverage coolers (dorm-size fridges) will be installed in Value Resort rooms 3/5-4/30/12. Work will be done between 9am - 5pm. Guests in the affected rooms will be notified by a flier in their room the day before the work will be done."

Do we think this will call for a slight rate incease at the values???

Just a note "beverage cooler" might not necessarily be "refrigerator". For example, most DCL staterooms have a "beverage cooler" which is just an insulated box, but no compressor. To keep things cool, you put in an ice bucket and your drinks. Cold enough to keep drinks cool, probably not cold enough to store milk or other perishables.

And, on DCL, your stateroom attendant replenishes the ice for you. I'm guessing that won't happen in a Value resort...

Edited to add: at least some of the POP rooms do appear to have "real" refrigerators. So, I'm not sure why Disney is using the term "beverage cooler", but perhaps it doesn't mean what it means on the Magic/Wonder...

Maybe they got tired of moving around all the fridges from the popular fridge swaps that many people do! :shrug:

I'll be glad to have a fridge (or beverage cooler as it may be) the next time we go!
