We're going to WDW July 8-15 of this year, staying at POR. What I was trying to recall was whether or not there was a water shuttle that went between Disney-MGM and Port Orleans. I seem to recall my parents staying at Port Orleans years ago (about 15?) and I thought I remembered my father saying that they "took the boat over" to MGM from the hotel. Was there or is there water transportation between the two, or am I just imagining it all?

There is NOT a water shuttle from PO to MGM. There is a boat that will take you to DTD from PO. Resorts such as Boardwalk and Beach Club have boats that go to MGM.

It is my understanding that the 2 water ways don't and have never connected.

Regarding WATER transportation, currently the only water shuttle from Port Orleans Riverside is to (1) Port Orleans French Quarter or (2) Downtown Disney. I don't believe there ever could have been a water boat from POR to MGM, at least based on current water ways.

Have a great trip!

My parents must have gone to DTD first, then to MGM, that would be my guess. That answers that question for me; I know all about the bus system, but have little knowledge of the waterways at WDW.

If you look at a satellite view of the park, it shows that the epcot-mgm waterway is a closed loop and does not and never has connected to mgm. it would be cool if they did though!
