Refillable Mugs from March 2012 - will they work in Nov?

Please learn that just calling something a "fact" because you wish it were, doesn't actually make it so.

Fact: a truth verifiable from experience or observation.

The use of a pool at a resort has a monetary value that is verifiable. It has been verified in several ways. It is a fact. Not because anyone wishes it was, but because it is verifiable from experience and observation.

You are the one who clearly does not understand the difference between facts and opinions. Please stop posting and continuing to reveal your ignorance.

I disagree with the thought that it's "stealing". Re-using refillable cups? Yes. Using another hotel's pool? No.

Stealing doesn't only apply for a physical, tangible thing such as soda. Obtaining or using a service that you have not paid for or was not offered to you at no charge by the party delivering the service is still stealing.

You clearly have a different viewpoint on that fact and have made it very clear that nothing is going to change your perspective on that fact. Continuing to repeat your disagreement doesn't change the legal definition of stealing but I'm bailing out of this dialog because it's just going in circles.

Thanks for the input. I have NEVER in the 19 years I have been a WDW visitor thought about doing this. What I can say, is that Six Flags allows you to use the same cup for the year.

Also it seems EVERY week has either free food or discounts.

(PS: I've never pool hopped)

Well, it looks like you have thought about this ONCE in 19 years when you made the post. What I can say is if Six Flags gives you free refills for a year, go to Six Flags for refills. Just because one state lets you make U-turns at any intersection doesn't mean you can use that logic to make U-turns in stats where it is illegal.

Seriously,if you're that upset about not getting a few free drinks or the amount of those free drinks is going to ruin your vacation budget, maybe you not go or simply shave a few bucks off some other part of your budget.

Hmmm, I think you read the intent wrong. The replies received were calling me a thief of which I am far from.

No need to get upset. It was just a poll.

Have a great night....

Reusing mugs is bad. They are posted as being only valid at the resort of purchase for the duration of the stay during which they were purchased. But them again, Jaywalking is also bad.....

Isn't the DVC pool hopping privileges for other DVC resorts with the exception of Stormalong Bay, not all resorts? Just curious. That's how I understood that to work.

To clarify, we DVC members only have limited privileges to swim at other DVC pools. We don't have an all access pass to go swim at GF or Poly or Pop. And even then, as someone else said, there are many date restrictions, and one or more pools that do not participate (BLT, I think). When they build DVC at the Poly, I imagine the Poly pools will be off limits to non-Poly DVC guests, since it's one of the favorite pools on property.

No double standard. We're paying for the perk in our membership, and even then, it's extremely limited. Besides, our literature clearly states that we CAN pool hop....while other Disney literature says non-DVC guests can not pool hop. Whether someone believes that's fair or unfair is moot - there are rules and they are to be followed.

Not to drift too far off topic, but the current verbage on the DVC Member site regarding pool hopping is as follows
When staying on your Membership at Disney's Vero Beach Resort or any DVC Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a host or hostess at the front desk of the resort you wish to visit before you go to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current Key to the World card with your "DVC Member" designation on it to use the other resort hotel pools.

Pool hopping is not available at the pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and the leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas. There are no exceptions to this policy. As a reminder, during times of high occupancy, please be mindful of the limited number of pool chairs available, and refrain from leaving towels or personal items on unoccupied pool chairs.
There are additional blackout dates, and other minor points, but as a DVC member staying on points, you can hop to any pool on property, except for those explicitly listed as not applicable.

I love how this thread started on the topic of re-using resort mugs (which I don't do) and there is instead far more discussion on the topic of pool hopping (which I also don't do). I don't see why people would really want to pool hop anyways. As for the mugs, we always buy a new one when we go down, even if it's the same design as one we previously recieved. I think even for the price of the mug the value is there for a week long trip.

it's only going to be a matter of opinion that someone swimming in another resort pool other than the one they're staying at is 'stealing' anything.
No, it is a fact that it is stealing but your opinion that it is OK. Unless of course you are a DVC member like myself that has paid for the privilege and then you would not be stealing.

Hold the phone:eek: What's this thread about again,Oh aye, Mugs.Handbags down everyone. If you can afford a WDW vacation then surely a $16.00 mug is not a big issue. And why Oh why would you want to go to another resort pool.Is there something wrong about your own resort pool.Sorry for my rant, but I just don't get it.

Thanks, I had a great night. You misread my intent. You said your never thought about about taking your mugs back. I was pointing out that by making the original post you would have had to think about it at least once or you would not have made the post.

Additionally, sorry if I missed the poll, but I went back and I still don't see one.

Have a great night!
