Refillable mugs: choices? and convenience

What specific choices do you get from the refillable mugs? it just says "Soda" everywhere and i would liek to know.

also i am leavign for PoR in 2 days (yay!) and i havent made any room requests. if i stay in a far away building how long would it take to go and get my mug refilled (max)

thanks in advance.

We were down in January of 2005, and had no trouble taking the mugs into all the parks. They aren't completely sealed so they can be a bit of a pain if you can't keep them upright. But we did find that any of the drinks stands would happily give you some ice to take over to the waterfountain..

Cheers

Do they allow you to bring the mug into the parks with you? Just wondering if you could fill it up before you leave for the park and have something at least for a little while. Then later in the day maybe put ice water from your lunch in it to save money...just a thought.
They use to. I do remember seeing some mugs at the BB un Feb.

Yes, you could fill the mug up and bring it with you before you leave the hotel to enter the parks.

Excellent! Thanks for the info. Our 4 year old doesn't drink soda so that would be great.

All the resorts have mugs. I have one from there. And the surpising thing is that they still have the same look mug there. 5 years later. So save it if you come to the resort agian.

Here we go.

Mugs are supposed to only be refillable for the length of stay when you bought them.

Also, any of the counter service restaurants will give you a cup of ice too. They won't take your mug and fill it with ice due to health reasons, but will gladly give you a cup of ice or ice water.

Disney does not know that.

They most certainly do, they even have signs posted when you buy them stating such.

Your ethics on whether to abide by that agreement is up to you.

If you are saying Disney can't tell when you bought the mug, that is true. You probably could get away with refilling an old mug. But if you drive 150 down a deserted road, is it or is it not still speeding?

are the mugs just for the moderate and below resorts??

Thanks for your feedback

Yes guests staying in DeLuxe resorts neednt stoop to looking for free refils in plastic mugs. They have a man to recharge the glasses when empty

The mugs is a great thing to buy. You can go down to the food court has many time as you want. Disney never changes the mugs. I have a Pop mug and I use it at work and when I go down there in 9 days I will be bring it with me.

Actually they do change them. It may take a while for it to work around to each resort but I know Port Orleans has changed at least once.

New mugs are now stamped that they are to be used on that trip only so they could check them, I guess. Do whatever your conscience dictates...

We always buy new mugs each trip as we use them at home also.

Please guys, lets not go down this path again. Thanks.

Do they still carry two different sizes? In June at WL all they had were the "travel" sizes (which do hold the same amount just shaped differently) and we asked if they had the other style becaue all our other mugs are in that style - we were told that they would only have the travel style from now on.

Well the last time I was there they did (May 06)... They are shaped differently but both hold 16oz. One is a taller cup that can fit in a cup holder. The other is larger and cannot. It is possible they only carry the taller cups now, which would make sense.

I don't know if they will continue the two different sizes, but I do know they hold the exact same amount of liquid. In january the wife and i each bought a different mug from POR and we tested which one held more......both the same.

I like the larger mug rather than the travel mug, simply because the travel mug can be tipped over much easier than the larger mug.

I think spending the 15 dollers on the mug is so worth it... come on think about it.. 15 bucks for all the soda and drinks you want cant beat that... What I think Disney should do is make a mug you can use at any hotel... that would be nice...
