we are staying at a Disneyworld resort. ( 4 kids and 2 adults) we don't have the dinning plan. We plan to be at the parks allot!! Is it still worth it to buy the refill mug? Or buy 1 or 2 of them?

Yeah, just do the math. We were at the Wilderness Lodge for 7 nights recently. If you look up menu prices, they charge $3.29 for "assorted fountain beverages, or $2.49 for coffee/tea. They charged $17.99 for a length of stay rapid refill mug. With our family, we generally get drinks from the food area at least 2x per day (i.e. breakfast and later at night after the parks); so for sodas that would be $46.06 for 7 days, or $34.86 for coffee/tea. In our case, it was a no brainer, however, for shorter stays you will reach a breakeven point somewhere.

Thanks for the price idea. We will be there 6 nights. So if I bought a soda atleast once a day that would be 19.74. It looks like the mug will atleast let us brake even. ( and maybe save more if we get more to drink)

Just remember that the mugs can only be filled at the resorts, not in the parks. We usually like to fill one with coffee on the way to the parks and rinse it somewhere while we're out. Then we fill it with something on the way to the pool or just walking around.

I would say it's worth it if you drink soda, coffee, or tea. It takes about 6 soda purchases for it to pay for itself. If you strictly drink water, then keep away. Water and ice are free.

For us, it depends where we're staying. In a value resort, moderate resort, Fort Wilderness, Saratoga Springs, or Old Key West,, we absolutely will not get a mug because the trek to and from the food court is more of a hassle than it's worth. If we're at a "single building" resort like Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, we definitely get the mug and make good use of it.

Depends on how much they are going to be used... how much soda will you allow your kids to drink. DW & I drink coffee at breakfast and then use the mugs for several refills of soda in the evenings. DS uses his mug for soda only. We typically spend the entire day at the park so our time using the mugs are only at breakfast and late evenings after we return. We do get enough use out of them to make it worth while. And w just have to bring home another resort mug to add to the collection of many others in our kitchen cabinet.
