I'm willing to bet that one of the main reasons it passed is because they don't want to alienate the king, since he'll punish something in their district.
That line item budget veto can be a powerful tool.

I think Disney needs to scrap their plans to move employees to Florida, stating that they are afraid of the Governor and what else he can do to them. I cannot believe that the idiots in both houses don't know that this is a completely illegal move on their part that violates the First Amendment.
Disney saying they’re afraid would be a huge win for the governor. It’s exactly what he is saying he wants, companies to be afraid of saying things the state dislikes.

You don't think, if Disney is afraid of retaliation from the governor, that other companies wouldn't take notice and either cancel plans to move there or even move out of the state because of it? It is now a very hostile place to do business and the rule of law is completely thrown out the window.

I believe one of them said. 'I hope I don't get banned' (from WDW). Straight after the vote.
Have you seen what MSG has started doing? They’ve banned all of the employees of law firms engaged in litigation against them from attending their venues and are using facial recognition to enforce it. It hit the news when the stopped a woman who is not involved in any of the cases from seeing the Rockettes with her daughter and her Girl Scout troop.

The state is likely still hoping their generally favorable tax/regulatory environment will counterbalance their unfavorable workforce/HR policy issues and public perception challenges that undoubtedly would persist for any companies looking to expand or relocate to the region.

Comparatively lower cost of living and a more warmer climate compared to other large metropolitan states will also continue to attract a large swath of migration and future customer base regardless.

Full disclosure: Not saying I agree with these arguments, just presenting a likely justification why they may feel like they had “enough goodwill to burn” to still be above water.

I think publicizing what is happening could be beneficial, but not by framing not as a fear.

So now it goes to Gov office. Still hold to my opinion Disney does not fight this for reasons I have already stated.
They may not, but we'd all better accept the fact that nothing new is now coming to WDW in the near future, and that prices are going to skyrocket due to the extra burden the new board will place on Disney to do anything at all.

It’d be petty and framed as an attack on the government and the First Amendment, but I also wouldn’t mind these people being charged more or just banned.

If you were Iger, D'Amaro or Vahle you would just be itching to do it wouldn't you. It would be so delicious.

Much better to take the moral high ground of course, and that is exactly what they will and should do.
