Ahh, the good old daysā¦ or as one of my old leaders liked to point out, āa lot of people forget that the good old days werenāt always so good.āI completely forgot about 21stamps until now.
Homeschool āem then. That's swell, but when it comes to an individual child, if the kid's parents' opinion of what their child should be exposed to differs from your opinion, the parents' wishes should rule. Similarly, when it comes to the entire pool of children, if your state legislature's opinion of what the children should be exposed to differs from your opinion (as outlined in legislation), the legislature should control.
Homeschool āem then.
No you did notā¦I completely forgot about 21stamps until now.
Itās been completely mishandledā¦and I bet somehow they come out stronger on the other endā¦I wonder what the brand damage is to Disney over this whole dust up. With things like the Scarlett Johansson controversy, I doubt the average family was particularly aware that it was even going on. But this is a headline story everywhere, has dragged on for weeks, and may literally be one for the history books if it turns out to be a key springboard for DeSantisās Presidential bid.
I think the thing thatās particularly difficult with situations like this, is that the average American isnāt particularly informed about politics. So thereās a big risk of people who know little about it thinking āWasnāt Disney in big trouble with the government or something? Wow, they really must have been up to no good!ā
Iāll be extremely curious as to what Disneyās strategy will be to address this situation, moving forward. They must be coordinating some sort of strategy but theyāre definitely between a rock and a hard place. I think they will have to replace Chapek at a minimum. I actually pity the poor guy at this point but I donāt see any way they can shoot for a new image (maybe one involving āunityā or ābringing Americans together againā) with him at the helm, when heās so associated with this era of Disney and this controversy.
In the court of public opinion Disney stood up in opposition to a bill known as the don't say gay bill. The vast majority of people in the country donāt know whatās in the actual bill and Iād say the majority donāt even actually know thatās not the real name of the bill, but the nickname certainly seems pretty awful. I donāt live in FL but I have to say the majority of casual conversations I have heard about the bill around my area center around people saying āwhat the heck is going on down in FLā. No way Disney fires their CEO over this. That would be a PR nightmare. Chapek may not last as CEO but they certainly wonāt fire him over this.I wonder what the brand damage is to Disney over this whole dust up. I hope so. Iāve certainly had my frustrations with Disney in the Chapek era but in the end I hope for years of visits with my son when heās old enough. Hereās hoping they figure it out.Itās been completely mishandledā¦and I bet somehow they come out stronger on the other endā¦

Iām thinking of polls that show 1 in 3 Americans canāt name their own governor and so on. It seems to me that in that group, they wonāt even know what the specific controversy was, just that they kept seeing Disney in the news for āsomething or other that was probably bad.āIn the court of public opinion Disney stood up in opposition to a bill known as the don't say gay bill. āThis thing you think is happening, isnāt, and if you dare stop it youāre a close-minded bigot.ā Okay.Seems like a simple solution to a non-existing problem.
For some perspective, if RCID is dissolved as planned on June 1st of next year, it will have existed 672x longer than CNN+.
From the very beginning, the deal was that in exchange for setting up a stricter regulatory environment Disney would get control.Your argument seems to be that this makes life harder for TWDC? than why the hell did they lobby so hard for it in the 70s?
