Reduction in Air -Conditioning Usage?

To answer the original OP, I was in EPCOT in August, I don't remember everyplace I went, but I remember entering Nemo, it was beautiful , so refreshing, so cool, it stuck in my mind.

I do not think WDW has a formal policy to use less AC, I think there many factors why some attractions and buildings are warmer than others; some spaces are simply harder to keep cool than others, some AC systems may need maintenance etc.

I do believe they probably hold off normal maintenance till absolutely necessary to save costs, so some systems are not cooling as well as they could.

And why not? We are already in the park, they already have our money :)

Sounds like a personal problem. 👍

WDW is in Florida -the weather is gross 9 mos of the year. Make no mistake, this is all about pocketing some extra cash. That doesn't mean it's not a waste of resources. Two things can be true.

Theres a reason the park was built in Florida and not where the Patriots fanbase lives. (hint its the 6 months where you cant go outside)

We take showers everyday and after each shower the towels and washcloths go in the hamper which creates a load of wash every 3 to 4 days. If you like to reuse your towels then good for you, I did when I was a kid and it was gross. Now it's my house so I don't.

If we wanted to reuse the towels I don't see how it would even be possible, given we are a family of 4 we would have 4 wet towels each night, not enough space to hang them out to dry which would mean if the maid folded them the next morning we would get the pleasure of damp towels that had been folded up before they were dry which to me would not be nice at all.
We are a family of 4 who showers every day. We have not run into the issue of finding space to hang the towels. At home we wash/change towels out every week. I don't know why you see it as gross after all, you are just drying your CLEAN body on it. A toothbrush is much more gross, do you toss that every day?

I don't change the toothbrush I just rinse it in Listerine after I use it and store then put it in on the nightstand. Are you one of those that keeps it in the bathroom? If so then you might consider tossing it everyday as a bathroom is simply nasty with bacteria wafting in the air after every flush, which is why a bath towel hanging to dry in the bathroom is anything but clean. even when a lid is closed on the toilet it isn't air tight while that lid reduces the amount of bacteria that get released with each flush it doesn't eliminate all of it... Then you've given them a nice moist home in that towel to live on... Sorry, that's not something I want to do.

Easy peasy.... If you have a medicine cabinet in your bathroom, after you brush and floss then put your toothbrush away in the cabinet for the paranoid people out there. 😁

Here's the thing. When it's cold out, you put on more clothes. We actually spend a lot of time outside in the winter in New England. There's usually only about a week or two each winter when it's too cold for any outdoor activity... and this from the perspective of someone who lives in one of the coldest locales in the region.

(Not saying Disney should attempt a year-round theme park up here, though).

Didn't the Mythbusters disprove this?

And yet, billions of people worldwide manage not to get sick from their own, other peoples' and shared bathrooms everyday.

And the bacteria from feces are not airborne. Unless you use your toothbrush to scrub your toilet, your mouth is safe.

Typical home/apartment air conditioners really only cool down well to about 30 degrees cooler than the outside temperatures. We get told this every year in Tucson. Which means cranking that AC down to 56 when it's 114 out is just going to stress out and probably ice up your AC*.

*We see this all the time at the hotel I work at. Yeah, the A.C. icing up is too your fault when you've got it set at 60.

Or you might consider letting your immune system do it's job and stop worrying about the Billion to One odds of having a problem with it in the bathroom. However, since you have made it clear that you don't intend to guard against bacteria and only attempt to avoid it, there really is no sense of me even mentioning that. The weird thing is that no matter how many steps you take, you are not going to get out of this alive.
I don't think any coroners report has ever stated that someone died of "toothbrush left in the bathroom. What a fool he was!"

I've been a resident of the State of Florida for over 20 years, half of that time in SW Orlando. ;)

Inside folks vs outside folks. Thats why Southern California was so attractive to settle as the average temperatures for most of the year are mild.

Sounds like a germaphobe--he's not doing anything to anyone. Unless he expects someone else to wash those towels he uses every day.

Close the lid. It dramatically reduces the spread of the "toilet plume."

There is an override for the motion sensor, and the temperature control. Call the front desk, and they will send facilities to your room. Temperature will go to 64, and you can have the fan continuously run. I did this twice in 2017, as well as August of this year, so I'm speaking from experience. Nothing was worse than the air turning off at night in August!!!

I was at Boardwalk June ‘19. It was a heat wave that week (97-100 all week). I called the front desk and maintenance came right up and changed the limits.

Wintertime in frigid New England- NOT!

And what’s wrong with that? It’s invigorating during a NE Winter! Plus screaming and jumping for the Pats keep us warm.

Really, Florida during a heat wave in June is brutal. The WDW AC just couldn’t keep up. But in NE, we don’t have to buy extra clothes due to perspiration stains.

My favorite time at WDW is Mid-January. I go then every year.

Might work if there was a medicine cabinet in the bathroom. None of the bathrooms in my house have them, so for me its the nightstand in the bedroom
