The Star Wars Fireworks were incredible. The projections stole the show. We stood right in front and the visuals were on point..music on point.

Best fireworks show I've seen on property (illuminations a close second)

That's how I felt too. We weren't right up front but not too far back. We are huge fans of fantasmic so really think HS is killing it with the nighttime entertainment right now.
I know HS gets ripped for all the closed stuff (we always manage to spend a decent amount of time there with a young one), but with TOT,TSM,RRC, hopefully not dumping GMR, and if they can do Star Wars land right, and salvage something out of TSL with those night time offerings, park will be a lot of fun.

Alrighty - back last night and settled in!

@MonorailRed is moving into school today but I can give a summary of the 4 days the best I can and in the actual order (we were going out of order with the brief posts before)

Anyway so, we realized a few months ago that our family vacations overlapped for 4 days in August, and we said - let's meet up! Just a casual idea and it turned out to be a great idea.

Day 1 - Thursday August 11

- Met at the Beach Club and were going to head to the extra morning hours for Epcot...but when we got there, Test Track was broken, so we rode the monorail to the MK (no, unfortunately the red monorail was out of service :p)

First ride at the Magic Kingdom was Splash Mountain right after rope drop...5 minute wait...and twas a great ride through. All effect working and got out in a timely manner...even though we got stuck temporarily by the lift hill.

Then walked over to Space Mountain...so yes Red got to ride Space Mountain..with Space Mt:hilarious: And that was about a 15 minute wait or so. Still one of my favorite attractions.

And then to another favorite, the Peoplemover:happy: After that it was around 11am and we decided we wanted to head back to Epcot

Rode the monorail around through Epcot and then stopped at the Fountain View Starbucks for some fraps. I had never been inside..it wasn't a bad design at all..very modern looking and blended in with Epcot.

After that, Red hadn't been on the new Soarin' Around the World yet, so we walked over there (about a 30 minute wait) I'm so happy they brought back the trivia in the queue...so much better than that weird, moody game they had before. The queue is very clean as well.

Soarin' was great - front row seats..I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't been on, but the videos online don't do it justice..you need to see it in person because they have new scents and motions that were very well done.

Then we strolled back to the Beach Club around 1:30 or so because we both had family dinners we had to go back to! And thus was the end to an awesome Day 1

Day 2 coming up!:)

Day 2 - Friday August 12

As was a running theme throughout the whole trip..."nothing as planned, but everything perfect" that's pretty much the motto of the trip.

We were originally going to the Magic Kingdom for early hours, but somehow ended up at Blizzard Beach:p

Like I was saying earlier, Runoff Rapids was very cool, we'd never done it before..do the enclosed slide if you ever get a chance. And also they have Frozen introductions now at Blizzard Beach..it was only a matter of time.

Was at Blizzard Beach till around 1pm or so then headed back to the respective hotels...and met up again at Hollywood Studios because it was the late night.

This was great because we got to ride Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror twice! It had rained during the Star Wars Fireworks that night so I had to take my grandmother back on the boat before coming back into the park, so I missed them (but got to see them later on in the trip) then after it rained, the park cleared and we got to ride with minimal wait!

Thought this was the best day, but it actually got better - Day 3 coming up!

Day 3 - Saturday August 13

Got up early after a late night (no sleep at Disney:p) and went to the Animal Kingdom Early Morning Hours!

Rode Everest with about a 10 minute wait...we both agreed that is one attraction we actually don't mind waiting through the queue for..in fact I prefer it to the Fastpass line because you get to see so much.

Everest was great as always (but if you have the chance to ride at night...do it!)

After Everest we headed over to Primeval Whirl..which is obviously the most well-themed attraction in the park:hilarious: I forgot how jerky that ride is, especially if you're on the end seat. But still good though!

We then saw that Dinosaur was closed, but met @IDInstitute anyway:D:p

Then went over to Kilimanjaro Safari -- got to see a ton of animals! Also @MonorailRed showed me a really cool waterfall path behind the Tree of Life...if you ever get a chance to go see it, go for it! Great views.

Once we were done with that it was around 11 or so and I had to head back for a family reservation, and since it rained in the afternoon for a while we had to skip the park at night, but that would change tomorrow on Day 4!

Day 4 - Sunday August 14

The final day was originally planned to be 4 parks day where we would run from each park to the next to get a picture and a ride so we could say we did 4 parks in one day...however we were all tired at that point...and realized we had been to 5/6 parks (including water parks) and the only one left was Typhoon Lagoon...so that's where we headed.

Again we just watched my cousins go up and down all the slides while we either just walked around or went in the lazy river. However, the best part of the trip there, was discovering that there is a walking trail that goes to the top of Mt. Mayday!

You walk over a rickety bridge, high above the lazy river, and hike up the mountain, to get a fantastic view of the park...I recommend doing this walk with flip flops or shoes on though, we learned that the hard way...the walkway is not built for feet:eek: twas very rough.

That was awesome though.

Then we headed back to the Epcot Resort Area, where we went to The Fountain for milkshakes (which are the best milkshakes on property...yes @MonorailRed ...you are right:rolleyes:..and took a walk around the Boardwalk to just people-watch.

After dinner with respective families, we both ended up at Hollywood Studios with the exact same RnRC fastpass..though the ride was down, so we could use the FP anywhere...we (or should I say my little cousins forced us:hilarious:) to go on Toy Story Midway Mania.

Red, who won again? :p I can't seem to remember :angelic:

After that we got a prime viewing location for the Star Wars Fireworks..best fireworks show on property now, and a fantastic way to end the trip!

Overall - best 4 days at Disney and hopefully many more! It was a blast!:)

I'm about to give a summary of the trip in order, with some comments on some new attractions, food, ect.

Great Week guys! I'll start with Space and I's trip

Day 1

^ What he said :p

Splash Mountain

- Effects were great on Splash, however the fish in the static AA wasn't working in the laughing place scene near the gator. (Sidenote: I've noticed it hasn't been working the entire week I've ridden Splash )

- Got stuck on the Lift hill by the creepy buzzards. I think we heard they're entire script over and over around 8 times :p:hilarious:

- Overall, not my best time on Splash, but not the worst :p we weren't in the front so we didn't get soaked

- @spacemt354 in this picture :p:hilarious::hilarious:

- The Spy in the Picture

Splash16.jpg

Space Mountain

- Worst attraction I've ever been on  :p - Kidding it was great as par usual.

- Nothing to really say, everything worked and it was a quick wait.

Peoplemover

- What to ride when no one will make a decision what to ride :p

- Everything worked properly, and was a quick wait as usual.

- This was the first view of the new Carousel of Progress paint I saw, and it works incredibly well! Very impressed with that.

Soarin' Around the World

- The new queue is amazing! The new colors and quizzes really freshen up the queue, makes it less boring, in my opinion.

- The film itself was spectacular! Big change! The transitions and film quality sets it apart from the original, it really freshens the whole attraction in a way that makes it feel brand new to Epcot. It also fits much better with the new ending and the "World" theme... Since the world showcase is nearby.

- Overall, my favorite attraction this trip!

Garden Grill - The Land

- This was personally my first time eating at this restaurant this trip - and it's definitely one of my favorites at WDW currently! The food is served buffet style in a rotating restaurant that circles the show scenes from Listen to the Land. - And is a character meal!

- I really enjoyed all the food here, I really have no complaints, we had a great server as well, but I can't recall his name. :(

Runoff Rapids was a blast! Almost lost a flip flop :hilarious:

I didn't do much at Blizzard :p But that was the day I got to ride Frozenstorm!!!

IMG_0009-1024x683.jpg

Unlike @spacemt354 , I loved Frozen Ever After! Its really a great attraction. The AAs, effects, and extra show scene really add to the ride!

From looking online, I thought I'd hate the "Let it Go" scene, but it's actually very spectacular in person. There's a ton of effects surrounding guests.

The weakest part of the ride was the giant snowflake after the lift.... Kinda a letdown :bored:

Other then that, all the effects were working, including Marshmellow and the fog in the scene before the drop.

I thought I'd get sentimental about frozen, but it's seriously such a different attraction, I didn't get much of the Maelstrom vibe till the drop where the oil rig used to be.

Overall, two thumbs wayy wayy up.

Even if you hate Frozen, go for the AAs, it's completely worth it.:D
