Recommendations on things to do?

I've been to Disney so many times I can't even count and I'm definitely the go-to girl among my family and friends when it comes to Disney but I can't really think of much on this front. So here goes.

I just started at UCF in the fall(loving it!) so I'm really close to "the magic." I wanted to take a couple of my friends and go down to Disney tonight and just have a fun time. I'm just not really sure what to do or plan. I know the obvious things like Downtown Disney and such, but I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on free or cheap things to just spend the night doing. I actually really wanted to watch the fireworks but I didn't know if there was a place to watch them other than the parks or from the hotels and I'm not sure if we can get into the hotels just to watch them (probably not). But I thought it might be helpful (as well as interesting) to see any suggestions. Also, a cheap food place on property would be great.

This is my first time going to Disney World by myself without my parents (even though I'm not really going to the parks, that would be much easier for me :animwink:) and I really want to show my friends a good time. They aren't really "Disney People". Thanks for any advice in advance!!! :D

There are a couple of places to see Wishes from, The GF and the Poly come to mind. Do not forget about the water pageant also. You could eat dinner at Whispering Canyon which is always fun. If you want cheaper then you could always eat at one of the Counter service places in the hotels. Riding around on the monorail and looking at all the hotels is also a great free way to entertain yourselves. A walk around the boardwalk is also a great idea. You may also consider walking around the Animal Kingdom Lodge and seeing some animals on the savannah. Hope this helps.

If you want to see the fireworks you could go to the POLY and watch them from the beach. As far as a cheap place to eat there is the new T-Rex Cafe and the Wolfgang Puck Express.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses guys! Now for some questions.
If I want to go to the poly for the fireworks, would I park at the Poly or at Downtown Disney and then take the bus? I only ask this because I know that sometimes they don't let you park at the resorts unless you are going there to see someone or eat at a restaurant, at least that has happened a few times to us before. Should I just tell them I'm dining there and then park or just stay honest and park at the downtown. :animwink:
Also, I do love the water pageant! What time, exactly, does that start? And is it visible from the Poly?
Thanks again for your great quick responses!!!
