Hello! My family of three (dh and dd 6 yo) will be at the MK during our week there in March. We will be having breakfast at the castle. We will want to have dinner at the MK before spectromagic-which we have never seen. I want to get a ps for somewhere but can't decide if we should do a character meal or elsewhere. Any ideas? thanks Shelly

My wife and I enjoy Dinner at the Crystal Palace. Since she loves all of the Pooh characters. Its a buffet style menue with lots of options for kids and adults.

My wife and I have enjoyed a meal at Cosmic Ray's over in Tomorrowland many times. Granted, it is counter service, but we have always liked the food, and it's roomy enough that you can usually find a fairly quiet spot. If you want table service, I would say the Crystal Palace. We love having the characters visit our table, as my wife is a big Pooh fan, and the restaurant is all 100 Acre Wood characters. Plus, the food's pretty good, but a little pricey at dinner for a buffet.

'Ohana's is amazing. But if you want to stay in the Magic Kingdom I HIGHLY recommend Tony's Town Square (Lady and the Tramp themed) or having dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table because they really treat you like royalty.

We recommend Liberty Tree Tavern. They have a great meal with everything!! It is not as loud as Crystal Palace and for picky eaters you can't go wrong. Who doesn't like turkey with stuffing and mac & cheese!!:slurp:

My vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. It's family style with characters. I think the food is very good. It's not gourmet. Rather it is basic food (beef, chicken, mashed potatos, etc.). It is hands down my favorite place to eat in MK. Now if you have the time to hop on the monorail and have dinner at a resort, you will have many more good restaurants to choose from. In fact, if that's the case, hop on the Wilderness Lodge's Friendship and have dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Liberty Tree Tavern is my favorite. Yummy in my tummy! I love the turkey. The meatloaf is huge and the characters are there what more can you ask for. Oh now that I think about it meatloaf is just for lunch but then theres no characters. Oh well I love that place.
Crystal Palace is another good bet. I like that better for breakfest though. Where ever you go I'm sure it'll be good!

I love Ohana's!

I say take the monorail to O'hanas at the Polynesian if you can...Its the bestest!

But if you have to stay at the MK then I reccommend either Tony's Towne Square Restaurant or the Liberty Tree Tavern. I am not a fan of the Crystal Palace..my cousins all call it the Golden Corral of Disney.

Tony's

I would have to say Tony's Town Square. Its a great place with great food and friendly service . I usually visit WDW on my birthday or near it and we always go to Tony's and i always get a desert while they sing "happy Birthday" to me and give me a card signed by Lady and The Tramp!! It made my day!

But, if you are not in the mood for Italian food then forget it . hehe :animwink:

Heading for the great escape.
Contrary to the two post above, I found Tony’s average at best. The menu was limited in my opinion, the quality soso but the service was good. The CM went out of their way to make it a pleasant experience. Its a shame ive yet to find passable Italian food inside a park restaurant. It was a little off putting having a bird flying around crapping all over the place when your trying to eat.

Liberty Tree was good, but I definitely prefer Crystal Palace, I like the fact that you can try a variety of things, better if you have fussy eaters in your group.

Liberty Tree Tavern would be my first choice.
Crystal Palace second.
Everyone should eat in Cinderella's Castle at least once. Food is pretty good. No better than Liberty Tree, but the atmosphere makes up the difference.
We did not have a good meal at Tony's, so I don't recommend it, though others may differ.

If you have time, hop the monorail and go to O'Hana's. It beats all of the MK restaurants hands down.

The magic kingdom really needs a good new sit down restaurant don't they. Anyway, the Liberty Tree is good but if you want fast nothing beats the chicken tenders at the Columbia Harbour House!

Of course, there's always a monorail ride over to the Contemporary and dinner at Chef Mickey's. Nothing beats their Parmesean Mashed Potatoes! :slurp:

Columbia Harbour House does have good chicken tenders, ate there on our Keys to the Kingdom tour. Crystal Palace is good as well, but we haven't been there since they reopened.

Meega, nala kwishta!
I'll put a vote in for Liberty Tree Tavern as well. This is one of our favorites, and we make it a point to go every time we visit.

Food is great, it's not to loud for a character dinner, and it's all around fun. Who doesn't want to see Chip and Dale do crasy stuff to unsuspecting guests?

I reccomend liberty tree tavern. Lots of good country food. You definately wont leave with an empty stomach or without satisfaction. They have the best macoroni and cheese and stuffing. MMMM
