Any recent reviews for Skipper Canteen? We are thinking about lunch ADRs in MK and I would love some feedback

We were just there on the 22nd and enjoyed the meal. Our previous visit wasn't very good (March 2016) as the Pork Char Siu was dry... almost brittle and the noodle bowl was bland. We sat by the window in uncomfortable chairs.

This time it was an entirely different experience. We sat in the study in the butterfly booth (comfy) and both had steaks which turned out to be the best choice. Nice piece of beef cooked perfectly to order (we raise cattle) and delicious sides.

Ate there in May (hope that's considered recent) and it was fun. Perfect break to get away from the crowds & heat, and enjoy some sit-down time with creative food. Portions are big so I'd recommend sharing an app and an entree. Also they serve beer which was a bonus. Theming is excellent, service is even better, and the location in adventureland cant be beat. For sure a spot you have to try at least once.

I just went for the very 1st time about a month ago. It was great! No wait to get in and no ressie needed. I loved the adventure theme and how casual and loose the atmosphere is. Service was great and super friendly. Food was quite tasty! My GF and I had the steak and the taste like chicken because it is. Both were good, but of I had to choose just one I would recommend the steak. The ginger jasmine rice with the chicken plate was fantastic, though! We also had the Cachapas as an app and highly recommend them! Tons of flavor and a nice blend of flavors. For dessert get the Kungaloosh! or the pineapple coconut bar - both were yummy.

I am glad Disney finally put a restaurant back in this location. I can't wait to go back.

We have been numerous times and almost always enjoyed it. Our visits last year and in February this year were great! However on a recent visit a couple of weeks ago, the food was below par. The chicken was very dry and the dumplings for starter were congealed. The whole meal had the feel of something that had been sat out on a hot plate for a considerable length of time before serving. We cancelled a second planned visit as a result.

Looking at other reviews, and based on our experiences, it does appear to be a hit or miss situation!
