Really impressed with Castmembers

If you had a specific CM that was great, write to Disney or call them. That goes on their file and they will get a nice praise from their boss.
Yes it does and we have made sure that every time we had had an exceptional CM we have gone to Guest relations in the parks or the lobby in a resort to report how wonderful they were.

We had an excellent tour guide in Epcot and of course we went to guest relations to say just that. The CM behind the desk listened to our tale and beamed a big smile back at us. Apparently it was only his second ever tour he had led and she had personally trained him, so she was delighted that he had done so well.

Wouldn't we all like to have someone say 'well done' for doing a good job? I know I would, and so do the hard working CMs. Remember them on your next visit.

We had a girl in Guest Relations at DHS back in June that turned a really bad day into an awesome day! Our 9 year old left the park saying that Samantha had saved the day. That was really cool.

From my experience, the only consistently negative CMs are the cruise booking people onboard the Disney ships. They're not exactly bad, but they certainly don't go out of their way to be friendly. They also work amazingly short hours compared to everyone else onboard, sitting behind a desk for what seems to be less than 8 hours a day.

Last year, my son was wearing one of his Dr. Who shirts as we were entering Epcot, and one of the CMs said, "When you get to the Italian pavilion, don't blink." This is a reference to Weeping Angels, one of the villainous species from Dr. Who. The angel statues in Italy look just like them. Later, another CM told us not to drink the water at Mission Space. There's a Dr. Who episode on Mars in which the water does nasty things. Classic.

Thus we've been inspired, ad nauseum, to say that New Years day is Who Years day at Epcot. Wear your favorite Dr. Who garb and receive a free smile from the likes of me.

THESE are the guests that should be reported to the General Manager of the park and then banned for life. Most of the CMs I've seen blocking off walkways in preparation for the fireworks are young - in their 20s. What kind of human being harasses a young woman to the extent she is left crying? Unless they were friends/family members relaying some terrible news (and (1) why would you do that to friend/family member when they are working, in public, not taking them to someplace private and (2) if #1, why would you not remain with them?). If I had seen that, my family members traveling with me would have had to hold me back so I didn't go after that group and give them a piece of what is left of my mind.

In todays world Castmembers must have a far more difficult time keeping up the game face than they did in decades past.
Between the much higher volume of people in the parks than in days of 'yore, and the increased rudeness, lack of patience, and more demanding and higher expectations of the public being a CM who can give their Disney best cannot be an easy task.
