Realistically how long can you park at a resort with a dinning reservation?

we have steakhouse 71 reservations on sunday the 11th at 7pm.since we have magic kindom passes that day is it possible to park at the contemporary at say 8 am, go to the park via monorail and skip parking and the t and t center?it also would be much easier to leave after dinner than going back to the parking lot. does this vary from resort to resort and is parking at a resort that crowded that this is not possible, thanks.

Especially this time of year, and especially trying when MK opens. They’ll have you turn back and park at TTC.

They ask to see your magic band or adr number. If you go somewhere after they probably won’t catch you. They catch the ones they can.

They check their iPad to find your actual reservation. So if you don’t have Chef Mickey’s breakfast they will know.

since i am more interested in quick and easy departure, how hard is it to drive from mk parking to contemporary?
It’s not hard at all. You’ll need to follow the signs to exit the MK lot. Since you will be driving away from the park (and the Contemporary) you will need to make U-turn on World Drive (there will be a “return to MK” option) and proceed from there. If you have GPS in your car, use it because I am going from memory.

No. You will be turned away at the Contemporary if you show up earlier than 30 minutes prior to your ADR time.

Well that may be true sometimes. My family had a Steakhouse 71 reservation during Thanksgiving week and we arrived an hour and a half early and there was absolutely no problem for us getting into the resort.

I’m sure there’s plenty of discretion when it comes to a couple of hours. But OP was asking about checking in at 8am for a 7pm dinner for the purpose of going to MK for the day. I’m fairly sure that would be a flat-out no.

And I was replying to this since what was said isn’t always the case. I will say it’s probably the norm, but definitely doesn’t happen like that all the time.

You *might* be let in an hour prior to an ADR, but not any earlier.

Right. The CMs probably have a good amount of discretion depending on when you visit.

We went to Cali Grill for dinner in late October and asked the security guard if we should valet if we wanted to take the monorail afterward, then come back for a drink at TOTWL right before they closed. He said to save the money and not worry about the car.

You could roll the dice with going to the contemporary for breakfast (rather than dinner) and walking over to MK. I've heard that MK resorts are pretty strict on the three hour parking limit though. I've never tried to stay longer to know. Personally, if I were going to pull that trick, I'd only use it if I were going to back to my resort in the middle of the day. Then you can go to dinner and walk back to MK for the fireworks since you'll only be there for that 2-3 hour period.
