Re-hab of MK Tommorowland

Okay, personally I think this land has really been lacking in substance for the last couple years considering all of the money that has been put into it, so here is my re-hab of Tommorowland.

We will first start with Timekeeper:

Add seats to the theater, but keep it circle vision. On the arm of each chair will be a joystick that will turn the chair 360 deg. The floor of the theater will be on hydraulics and tilt when appropriate with the screen to give flying and motion effects, the AA will remain the same and the movie will also pretty much be intact.

Alien Encounter

This attractions seems like you either love it or hate it, personally I find that the attraction relies solely on shock to be problematic.

Essentially this would have the same ride system as Spiderman at IOA but it would be smaller narrower cabs to account for the small space. Both theaters and most of the pre-show area would be used to comprise the ride any other near shops may need to be relinquished too and consolidated into other shop areas. The pre-show would still happen but it would be much nearer to the entrance then right before the ride, being a ride now and not a show this should increase the speed of the traffic flow. The story would change a little as now the guests are being the ones transported, so you enter your cab that seats about 4 people and you again have the shoulder harnesses and you move away from the loading dock where the track splits into four small rooms, the rooms are actually lift chambers like on ToT. Then ins a timed sequence each car is shot up , passed the track by 4-5 ft the lowered and unloaded(This is to simulate the transport process. The main difference now is that you were mistakenly beamed onto the wrong planet, which is home to that type of creature already present in the show. The main problem is you due to galactic disturbance they can only teleport you back to earth about 20 miles north of your location so they guide your vehicle via computer to that location. of course along the way the Alien attacks your cab. Do the same harness lower, hot breath effect along with the an Alien AA jumping at your car and then the car tilting back like it jumped in. Also at one point one of them will spit acid at you being only a water mist. The attraction would move through very tight corridors so the terrain will be covered with spires of rock and all of the scenery will be on video screens, however all of the Aliens will be AA. Of course at the end they get you back safely to earth and the transport back is the same as the first with the small drop/lift chamber. * the scenes described are just highlights of the better scenes there would actually be many others too

Buzzlightyear

I really would not change much here except also some of the targets to shoot back and change the scenes around every 2-3 years to make the course changing and a constant draw

People Mover

Just spruce up this attraction

Space Mountain

Add an iridescent silver to the outside, and add cars like the ones at Disneyland(2 seater across and soundtrack)

Tommorowland Speedway

Replace with a new attraction called Cosmic Highway

Re-do the surface with a shiny metallic coating, use electric cars and add props and scenery along the track of a futuristic city

Move Carrousel of Progress to EPCOT in a new pavilion called the Technology Milestones Pavilion

In it's place and where Galaxy theater and the old sky station is put in a new attraction called Journey Through a Black hole

This Jules Verne themed ride, will send guests on an fantastic journey into deep space and learn the mystery of traveling through a black hole. The ride system will be a hanging EMV. Picture the current EMV car, bow turn it upside down, now flip the seats upside down(So that they are right side up) finally fill in the new bottom of the vehicle, and whola a new ride system. This space craft which looks more like something Jules would make rather than NASA, starts off on a journey blasting past stars at light speed and you pass out of the solar system and further into deep space, your car slows down and then plunges into the black hole and lot of bizarre sights later, the guests emerge out of the black whole and see themselves just entering it. (Done by taping the guests entry then playing back on a disguised video screen at the end. Then the journey back and the ride is done. The hydraulics will roll and bump the same as a standard EMV and obviously since this one is hanging some modifications to the tires will be made to ride on a track.

AstroOrbitor

Add a feature to tilt the front and end of the car up to 30 degree along with the up and down motion and increase the size of the cars.

yes!!!

Its like people are reading my mind or am i reading their's?!

I too would love to have a new overhaul of tommorrow land Its just when you build a land that has to be modern and space age you then realise that its got to be updated every 5 yrs or so to catch up with the ever increasing modern technology of our world etc.

Though my overhaul was even more brutal with taking old rides out and replacing them with new and updated modern rides.

I'd keep Buzz, Alien Encounter, the time keeper, carousel of progress, the transit thing. but these of course would be slightly re-themed/changed a bit to fit in with the rest of the area.

I'd First of all start with the big thing, the ride that the whole land centers around... Space mountain. It has been mentioned that it may be changed. I personly hope it does. I like the outershell so i would like to keep that but completely rebuild a new ride inside using the latest technology for ride and visual effects (your meant to be in space so make it look amazing) i would also like a launch on this too, don't know about inversions cus i always think of little kids who like to ride rides like this but can't.

I'd scrap the astro orbiter and build something like it but more advanced...

Id also completely get rid of the speedway and replace it with a bran new ride... maybe a new 20,000 leagues ride...? something like that. cars now are too old to be in that area they need something new/modern.

also visual treats around the area like large interactive bill boards and stuff, just modern things.

:animwink: wat do u think?...

I would just dig out those plans for Tomorrow land 2055, originally deisgned for DL's, So it would get a slight redisign, But It Will Work.

I read some of your comments and you bring up some good points but I am wondering how many of us want it to be as drastic as they did with Tommrowland at DL in the 60s and then again in the 70s when they compleatly raized the entire area and started it from the ground up. It would be closed for at least a year or more if they do it properly. I'm not shure I could be ok with missing it If I went at the time they were constructing it. I agree that they should have done a better job rethemeing the facades in the 98 rehab. If they were going to make it resemble more closely DLPs Tommrowland they should have been more thouro and done SM and the Bridge leading from SM to the promenad. I wish they would have left the two Monolithic towers and the waterfall that used to flank the entrance from the plaza.

Not too bad of a concept except for the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. They won't be changing this ride for a while due to them signing the contract with the Indianapolis Speedway. But besides that it sounds all good.

well I personally would like to see the Speedway totally ripped out and go toward making Toontown a whole lot better cause there is no reason right now to even go back there except if you want to see characters. if there is a total rehab of Tommorowland I think it would be wise to keep Buzz and while the rehab is going on I would find away to keep that ride open while the rest of the rehab is going on. TTA is a waste of time cause you really don't see that much. There is a lot of Space behind Tommorowland which you can see by riding the train so I think the Galaxy thearter should be riped out and the whole land needs to be pushed back.

There are some things that youy have to consider in you suggestions

1 you say that the Speedway should be rippid out to expand toontown because it would "make it a whole lot better''. How would you suppose that it would make it a whole lot better by ripping out the Speedway? what do you put there? I think if they made it more like the Autopia in DL it would update it a bit. And like you said you don't go there because there isn't anything that intereasts you there. then I say dont go there. I dissagree with removing the Speedway it is a way better arttraction than toontown for an adult.

2 Due to OSHA regulations Buzz Lightyear could not stay open except for a minor remodel like they did in 97. They would have to close the entire area for safety reasons as well as Disney wanting a suprise factor for the new area.

3 TTA is fine if they would put back the original vewing oppurtunities that were originally there for IYHW and FttM/MtM and refurbish the models on the track way.

4 In the original MK design the RR berm was to be the border for MK and the trees create a buffer for the Train whith was theamed that way for a reason. They built SM on the otherside of the berm in 74 since MK was the only park at the time and there was no place to build and the tunnel to the ride que makes for some drama for the attraction. With three other parks and a rummored planned 5th park there isnt enough attractions to make it possible to go outside the RR berm and quite expensive as well.

5 If you look at an areial shot of mk there is a flood control canal just the otherside of the RR track on the Tommrowland side and it would be another expence not worth making to reroute it. They had to move a small section in 74 to build SM and that was a lot of work just for that small section. so that is not feasable as well.
