Pooh Corner Hotel + 100 Acre Wood

Winnie-the-pooh-disneyscreencaps.com-3707.jpg

Yes, a land entirely themed to the Pooh IP, featuring an integrated hotel to the side similar to how DCA has its hotels integrated. Pooh Corner hotel has a charming “arts-&-crafts arcadia” aesthetic, similar to Pooh’s own home (and those of the rest of the cast), with crudely written door signage, crudely-written Coca-Cola vessels (to match what Galaxy’s Edge does), cobblestone roads, charming topiaries, and much more. The hotel’s value is considered Moderate, compared to the other hotels, with the proximity to the park being the main gimmick, but that’s not to say there’s a lack of others; like an indoor pool, an arcade, and character dining.

- Movie Under the Stars : Similar to the Pixar Place hotel, Disney films are screened nightly. On top of that, the Pooh featurettes and TV show episodes are used as interstitial material between films.

Stanw42.jpg

- Stan and Heff’s Game Room “TRESSPASSERS WON’T” : An arcade with various games including crane games, fighters, etc. Themed to a little cabin, and you may notice that a lot of the Disney+ anime compromise the characters in the crane prize lineup. More excitingly, Heffalumps and Woozles can also be won from a strength test hammer game.
- Owl’s Bathtub Splash Pool : An enclosed pool area, contrasting the outdoors pools in the rest of the resort, allowing it to be open even in cold times. Themed to an old-timey cartoon bathtub, of course. There is also a waterslide.
- The Hunny Pot : A buffet-style restaurant complete with character dining. A sort of alternative to Goofy’s Kitchen.
- Chez Milne : A quick-service option specializing in British cuisine such as bangers & mash, roast beef, fish & chips, etc.
- Sheperd’s Gallery : A sort of museum/art gallery of both the original illustrations by E.H. Sheperd and concept art for the Disney films.

The 100 Acre Wood area contains not only Pooh and the gift shop/candy shop, but also a selection of flat rides, serving as ODL’s designated flat ride area similar to Pixar Pier and the former a bug’s land.

Tigger Bounce : A “frog hopper” flat ride.
Pirate Piglet : A swinging ship ride.
Bumpin’ Beehive Boogie: A set of bumper cars.
Rabbit’s Wheelbarrow Whip: A “whip” flat ride.

Other Future World enhancements

The Prologue (fountain)

Themed after a Futuristic Rocket with water rushing out of the bottom of it. The fountain sits near the entry way to Future World and it welcomes you in. It is also located near the Space pavilion, which it is themed to.

The Promise (fountain)

A silver mirror ball, that provides a reflection, allowing people to see themselves. Much like the first fountain it has water underneath. But this time it doesn’t look like it’s coming out of the centerpiece, it looks like the water actually is propelling the ball upward. It represents the future and what is possible. And It is located in the New Horizons area of the park.

Futureport Transport Station

Like in World Discovery you can board a peoplemover to help ease your human feet. Which maybe sore thanks to the now newly expanded size of the park. It’s boarding locations will be in the front, and also in the back area between Future World and World Discovery.

Re-do: Muppets Courtyard

With the Muppets Courtyard as we know it being replaced by Monsters Inc, now seems like the time to pitch my version of the Muppet area that never came to be.

Starting at the corner of Sci-Fi and Star Tours, we have Rowlf's Tavern. While similar to the current Baseline Taphouse, the decor is distinctly more Muppet-y. Pictures of Rowlf with various Muppet Show guest stars adorn the walls, along with sheet music for some of the old standards. A piano sits in the corner with a sign reading that the pianist has "gone for a walk." The windows of neighboring shops along the former streets of America are also full of Muppet references. These include a poster for Manhattan Melodies, an ad for Ocean Breeze Soap, a copy of the Daily Chronicle, and even a bucket of Doc Hopper's French Fried Frog Legs.

Venturing further into the land, we see the familiar Kermit Balloon sitting atop the Muppet-Vision 3D theater. The show inside remains unchanged, as a tribute to Jim Henson, but the exterior of the theater is more colorful and teaming with life. In fact the whole land is! Just like in Shanghai's Zootopia, guests can look up and see Muppet penguins and chickens inhabiting the land's second story windows.

Instead of PizzeRizzo, guests are invited to dine in the Muppet Taste Labs. Taking both visual and culinary cues from Pym's test kitchen, guests can enjoy a variety of interesting treats of all different sizes. They may even be able to see Dr. Honeydew testing the shrink ray on Beaker in the kitchen while they order. Next door, guests can visit Muppet Mercantile (formerly its a wonderful shop) and pick out their favorite souvenirs or even create their own Muppet.

Outside of the Taste Labs, guests can take a spin on the Muppet Labs Flying Machines, a Dumbo-esque spinner that sits in the plot formerly occupied by the Stage One Company Store. Nearby, guests can also stop at the Børk Børk Førk food truck to try some of the Swedish Chef's (in)famous Swedish Meatballs (and naturally get a Muppet Sipper).

In the back of the land guests will no longer see Mama Melrose's, instead they will see the entrance to the first omnimover attraction at DHS, The Muppets Take Hollywood. Inspired by the cancelled Great Muppet Movie Ride, the Muppets will take guests on a whirlwind tour of their (barely) working studio. Featuring dozens of Muppet animatronics and elaborate sets, this attraction would fill a much needed void in the park's current attraction lineup.

Finally, I think that a suspended coaster in the back would still be a great addition to this land. So, The Great Gonzo's Stunt School will take the place of the future Monsters Inc. Door Coaster. Guests will be able to join Gonzo as he is launched from a cannon, out of the show building, through Camilla's chicken coop, and finally crashes on stage at the Muppet Theater.

Great job!

I've got a Rowlf's Tavern too, at my version of Epcot. And plan to include The Muppets in the future at my Hollywood as well. You just can't get enough of the Muppets, especially when it fits so well.

This is great!!!

If we had to do the area as a mono-IP land instead of my “World of Color” concept with stuff like Figment, I’d go for this.

Re-Do: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

The Great Movie Ride
----- (omnimover, similar to original)
----- (I would definitely bring back this classic ride, but with a new format. It maybe controversial, but I don’t think you need the castmember host for it anymore. With a narration coming out of the speakers, like on spaceship earth it keeps it moving fluidly. No offense to the castmember, but it will probably be for the betterment of the ride. And it would also be made into an omnimover ride system. The vehicles would look like classic 1950’s convertibles, back when Drive-in Movie Theaters were popular. Below is the list of movies that would appear in the attraction.)

- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- Bedknobs and Broomsticks
- Mary Poppins
- Dick Tracy
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit
- The Rocketeer
- Raiders of the Lost Ark
- Invasion of the Saucer Men
- The Day the Earth Stood Still
- Star Wars
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Nightmare before Christmas
- Frankenweenie
- Hocus Pocus

What about Fantasia, I’d think that would be a good fit for the ride.

The newer version of Mickey will be appearing in the park. So I figured it'd be weird to have the classic version of him too. That might just be me though. Because I'm particular (some would say weird) about things.
I still see the older versions of Mickey being portrayed in the parks, but I could understand how you want to keep it to just one version.

Indiana Jones & the Lost Laboratory

(Retheme of Dinosaur based on the planned retheme)

Indiana Jones really has two sides to him; exploring ancient ruins and kicking Axis tushy. Every prior ride he’s had has been about the “exploring ruins” stuff, so a ride based on his “kicking the Axis’s butt” side would break the tedium. To show it, the building is decidedly brutalist in aesthetic, looking more modern than the usual ruin, with hints of art deco and art nouveau to break up the brutalist traits. The queue still has some semblance to an old dig site, especially the outdoor part, but once you get into the lab, you’ll find out it’s an active secret lab of the Axis powers trying to create super-intelligent giant spiders as assassins. The pre-show is a scientist telling riders about the lab’s work in progress, assuming the riders are merely tourists. Then, Sallah shows a presentation on how the ride vehicles even work, overlapping the scientist’s rambling on giant spiders.

On-board, your vehicle is equipped with a prototype, relic-powered shrinking device to try and minimize the threat of the giant intelligent spiders, but the result is that the riders will shrink into the laboratory, with the monsters amok, seeking Indy. By the time you return to normal size, you will see the true fruit of the project’s labor; a giant cobra created specifically to kill Indiana Jones (named “Kathleen”, of course), which she does by trying to push a boulder on you, before riders return to normal size and escape the lab, securing the Axis experiments.

Set during the 1940’s, back when people dressed fancy and rode on cable cars. This would transition from Hollywood Boulevard seamlessly because of the city landscape of the area.

Re-Do: Frozen Sing-Along

Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular
----- (stage show, similar old dca version)
----- (Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular is a 45-minute Broadway-style musical theatre show based on Disney's 1992 animated feature film Aladdin with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. About 14,000 performances were held inside the 2,000-seat Hyperion Theater in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure from 2003 to 2016. The only difference between the two would be that this version maybe is more of a 1940’s style representation. Along the same vein as Arabian Nights and The Thief of Baghdad. The theater’s exterior will be changed as well to match the Beverly Theater.)

Re-Do: Vacation Fun - Mickey & Minnie Short

The Ink and Paint Club
---- (stageshow, similar to country bear jamboree)
---- (The Ink and Paint Club is a nightclub in the movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”. This is where Jessica Rabbit performed the famous song, "Why Don't You Do Right?". The Stageshow will have random segments of different toons singing and performing. Much like the stageshow Country Bears does at the Magic Kingdom.)

gangster-alley-2-jpg.713594

Re-Do: 50's Prime Time Cafe and Indiana Jones Outpost

Roger Rabbit in “CARtoon Calamity”
----- (dark ride, similar to runaway railway)
----- (It would be a more elaborate version of Cartoon Spin over in Disneyland minus all the spinning. Roger and Benny the Cab must track down the Weasels, after they have taken poor Jessica. They face obstacles along the way like boobie traps and bright colored dip. But just like in the movie Roger somehow succeeds. There is a slew of old 1940’s toons throughout the attraction and even an appearance from Judge Doom. There’s so many characters in that you’ll have to reride it over and over again just to see them all.)

P.S. There’s no need to worry about 50’s Prime Time though. It will be back in it’s brand new location elsewhere in the park. To be unveiled later on. So stay tuned you cool cats. … And I will see you later alligator.

Re-Do: Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Show and Backstage Areas

Indiana Jones and the Pyramid of Peril
----- (enhanced motion vehicle, similar to dl’s version)
----- (The exterior is meant to look like an Egyptian temple you would see on the set of an old movie. The story for this version revolves around a 1940’s Hollywood starlet who was abducted while filming in Egypt. They don’t know who or what took her. But it happened when she was looking at an ancient emerald called “The Eye of Ra”. It is said to be able to bring back the dead. Indy’s best friends with the starlet’s father so he asks him to look into it. Despite the stories and everything telling him not to he decides to take on the task of finding her.)

Egypt-Hurghada-desert.jpg

image

Indiana Jones’ Whiplash
----- (an indoor rollercoaster, similar to expedition everest)
----- (This action-packed adventure is based on the two earliest films, “Raiders” and “Temple of Doom”. You board a rusty old minecart and whiz by scenes from the two classics. Encountering not only a creepy cult leader and enslaved children, but lava, rushing water and the infamous giant boulder. The latter obstacle forces the vehicle to proceed backwards to escape it’s unyielding wraith. That’s why the attraction is so aptly named.)

Kurtzman Lane

(Retheme of Avengers Campus)

A retheme of Avengers Campus away from McU (yes, the lowercase c is intentional as in McDonalds, it makes much more sense than “M-She-U” due to being much broader, able to encompass male-led films and older films) standards/tone/etc, to fit with the retro veneer of the rest of the park, concentrating on 1960s-era Marvel in every way (aesthetics, franchises, etc); to the point I named it after Jack Kirby (creator of many characters who were usually well adapted to the McU, but not always) himself. Entering from the “hub” way, you can see a replica of The Tower of the Four Winds at the entrance, with a plaque honoring Rolly Crump; entering from Hollywood reveals a plaque honoring Jack Kirby. The buildings have simple green color schemes to blend in with the trees while still standing out enough to be identifiable, to more evoke a 60s comic, to the point where they have dot patterns (which hide Hidden Mickeys). The Pym Particle restaurant remains largely intact aside from a makeover to match Jack Kirby’s style, but WEB SLINGERS is rethemed to have actual villains, plus a comic book filter on top of it. There will also be a new omnimover ride based on the Fantastic 4 & Namor, plus a Captain America spinning coaster. Heck, even the shops sell a lot of vintage Marvel stuff.

No worries, McU representation still exists in Mission Breakout… for now, as it’s still part of Hollywood, but maybe Dr. Facilier has other ideas… (the Muppets do have a contingency plan to save MB with the use of the Hyperion). Additionally, Marvel characters from all eras can be found as meetables here.
