Anyone out there who is a Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 gamer know if there is a good recreation of any of the Disney Parks available?....specifically MK?

Thanks

I havent played the RCT 3 one yet, but the RCT 2 one is horrible....

Sure the look and detail is awesome, yet, its impossible to play it because guests keep getting trapped along the walkways and your park rating drops to 0 and stays there for the entire game. You also get rewards like, worst park in the sountry and weirdest park layout.....

Fun to look at, Bad to play

I thought that too. It is actually suprisingly similar to the real thing. God knows i've tried loads of times to recreate a ride from Disney World on RCT3 and got nowhere near there!!

Wish i could find other rides like that on the net! I came across that by mistake!

I haven't seen a recreation of the entire Magic Kingdom.

I saw on one blog that someone was recreating Fantasyland. The pictures of it looked amazing, but I don't think it's been released for download.

There is a great recreation of Liberty Square and Frontierland as well as The Disney-MGM Studios available on this site:

Hope that helps! :)

The problems with recreations:

In RCT2, you can't do some things you can do in 3. So although it runs faster (by many many leaps and bounds), it's less able to make all the details you need. When you finally build this huge, beautiful park, the guests get lost. For some reason, Disneyland/Magic Kingdom-esque layouts do NOT fly well in RCT2. I've tried lots of times. The "guests" in RCT2 just do NOT understand the layout, and get lost, usually in some ridiculous spot that in real life nobody has a problem with.

Whereas in RCT3, the problem isn't detail, or guest intelligence (they get lost less), but the game itself. After you build enough, it slows tremendously. If you built the entire park, it would be crawling at best and barely moving at all at worst. It just isn't practical.

Besides, put yourself in the rec creators' shoes.

The recs take HOURS and HOURS to do, mine took 6 months and was basic not concerning with huge details. Guess what? At the end, there's no rewards except satisfaction. The parks are unplayable for one reason or another -- RCT2 guests lost, RCT3 lag -- so what's the incentive to making one?

Very nice to look at, but no incentive to make, because they don't play well at all. Take it from me, I've made them (albeit not excellently).

Agree 100% I made a pretty elaborate fireworks display based upon RoE and about half way through the timing starts getting way off. You have to keep resetting the display, that ended my drive to try and create anything else.

The lag time is with the program itself. You get enough rides and it slows to a crawl - especially at night. The worst part of this is that the game is beautiful and you can make some incredible things with it but it just wont run right. It doesn't matter what type of computer or video card you have either. A single ride will work OK but beyond that there is really no point in doing it.

Can you still pick up guests and drop them in a pond and make the die? That was always fun.... Or using a launch coaster at max power with a 4 story track that ends. That's fun too. I only played 1. But it was much better for your park to kill people than make them happy by cleaning or adding bathrooms.

Sure can, and when they are in the water if you look up their status it is a frowning face with "drowning" as the description... or at least that's what I heard......... :lookaroun

im currently in the process of making the MK
i have downloaded loads of MK custome scenery off of the net and made a few of my own
as for it not being playable, my computer has loads of memory on it,my brother in law is an IT technition and he keeps updating my computer 4 me,i have 3 towers linked to one screen that i switch between,my rct3 is devoted entirly to one tower so i might not get problems.
ive allready got mainstreet and tommorrowland done, complete with every shop, ride and themed queline.i even downloaded all of the BGM for the park and added it to my park.

I get the same exact problem with my RCT3! I thought it was that I didn't have a fast enough computer, but I have over 2GB of memory.

The lag time gets even worse if you switch you park to night time mode.

anyone have any links for RCT2. I have a file already for mk, but it's was made as the 1980 MK!

Do you have a link to that?

That link doesn't work.

I would trap them and then they would start breaking the benches and park lights.:D

Interesting, but I don't think it's going to matter having one system devoted to it. The problem is with the program - I have a core 2 duo E6600 with 4 GB RAM, and an 8800 GTS graphics card. Still can't run a half park at night without major lag time. All monitoring software shows the system isn't even using 50% of either processor core, nor more than 2 GB RAM. Granted I do run the game at Max graphics settings and resolutions - I just think it looks horrible and isn't worth it at anything less.

If you do end up finding a way to make it work let me know. I would like to complete my RoE take off one day.
