Our trip countdown just switched to 59 days- just under 2 months to go. Since we decided to go on our trip back in August, I have been planning continually. Problem is, I seem to have run out of things to plan! So I need ideas. Planning for Disney keeps me in such a great mood- so I would appreciate any ideas you can give!

Here's what we've already done:
- booked entire trip: hotel, flights, tickets, etc.
- Day-by-day itinerary for which park to visit & special events that day
- restaurant reservations and plans for all meals
- printed list of menus for restaurants, and snacks for DDP
- printed list of character appearances for photo ops
- created overall budget
- checked typical weather forecasts
- started planning what needs to be packed/bought- will write list soon
- bought new sneakers- started wearing them in and getting on a regular walking regime

What else can I do??? (I've purposely been avoiding videos of the special Christmas shows at WDW cause I want to take them in for the first time when we're there.) Thanks!!

Looks like we're getting there just a few days before you- we're at 55 days out. I don't know your situation, but here are a few other things I've been throwing into my overplanning...

- book boarding for the dog
- we have kids- so I just bought some Safety Tats and am finishing up on my research of child locator devices
- I'm still pricing out glow necklaces and bracelets for evenings in the parks
- I'm scoping out winter clothes to buy in mid November, pre Thanksgiving, right when the winter lines tend to go on sale
- I've got a list of photography skills I'm practicing
- picking out everyone's outfits for special meals
-timing everything and checking out better ressie times in case I can time things better for meals and events
- making special autograph books
- ordering a few pre-trip souvenirs for the kiddos to save a few $
- getting my photo accounts in order
- starting to work on touring plans

I'm sure there's more, but that's all  that's coming to mind right now.
(can we say type A - or maybe just crazy :lookaroun)

am I the only one who just goes and wings it, might make a reservation or two for dinner but don't really plan anything else

I'm with you...I've only got 24 days to go, am all packed with the suitcases getting closer to the door all the time. We just wing it, kick back and enjoy. I don't want to be so tired from planning that I cannot have fun.

See, I really enjoy planning! Seriously! It helps me look forward to it and feel prepared. I am actually really flexible when we go on the trip itself- so I do kick back when we get there. But the more I know ahead of time, the more peace of mind I have. If I sat around, just counting down days, that would stress me out more!

I agree. We're not spending that kind of money and not know what's in refurb, what's on which menu, what each park's hours are (and EMHs) and confirm the ressies. Have a great trip!!

The other day my husband announced our trip was 11 weeks away and I couldn't believe he was keeping track (and it was actually 76 days away so he was spot on!!)

-JillC LI: My husband just laughs. Guess that's why I keep him around!

Truth be told, he loves WDW too, and looks forward to our trips just as much, but I have to admit to being a compulsive over-planner. And he has to admit that my planning always makes our trips all-the-more enjoyable. Besides, I AM willing to be flexible when we get there. (And I've certainly never denied anyone a bathroom break!:ROFLOL:)

Try reading reviews for restaurants/stalking the menu. Even though you already chose your ADRs, it's nice to verify that you picked the right places. AND it gets you excited to eat there!

YouTube is your friend. On ride videos remind you of whats to come!! And its easy to lose yourself in Disney videos and waste time.

Make a list of who you want to buy souvenirs for...maybe some ideas of what to buy them (its amazing how a rice krispie treat that would normally be lame is an amazing present when it has mickey ears and dipped in chocolate!)

A list of souvenirs you are looking for...like personally my boyfriend wants a Disney hat and golf shirt next time we go. And I need one of those Mickey necklaces w/my initial on it. haha!

Have fun planning!!!!

I'm planning a trip for my family (mine and hubby's second and our kids 1st) and I've been making notes in a notebook. I love this site because it gives me soooo many ideas for our trip. This post gave me a bunch more things to plan over the next 7 months. Thanks for the info everyone!!
