Rainy Disney

I was at MK this day and stayed for extra magic hours. We literally went on everything 4 times. Although we were drenched, it was so worth it. Big Thunder Mountain in a monsoon pretty much sucks, but its something everyone should experience!

Haha, I love the 2nd picture on the 2nd page.

I can vouch for an experience like this. Rainy days at Disney burst of my bubble initially, but you just need to make a few alterations and then you're off on a different kind of adventure. Soaked shoes and socks, paper park paraphernalia destroyed, but a whole lotta fun. :)

I usually wear quick dry clothing while in the parks knowing I'm going to get wet at some point. I've always wanted to spray a set of clothes down with the NeverWet Hydrophobic application and see how that fairs. I've done shoes before and an entire outfit might be fun.

Meh, it's just another rainy day in Florida, no biggie.... Washes all the pollen out of the air (and off your car) since Spring arrived several weeks ago - my azaleas are in full bloom. Gonna be another scorching summer in the Sunshine State. :(

I once went to Animal Kingdom and we stepped out of the Nemo show to already 8 inches of rain in like 25 minutes since it had started, absolute downpour, plus we had to run from the very back of the park to the front where the busses are, one of our most "remembered memories" per say but it was fun seeing people cheer us on as we went by since we were basically the only ones on the walkways not under cover

I was there for the deluge and it was the worst I have ever experienced....and that includes being there in a tropical storm.

One of my friends thought it would be fun to ride the Speedway in the rain. I (stupidly) agreed. First off, the car was full of water. I sat in a puddle on the seat that took care of my last area of dry clothes. Then driving the car was fun because the rain was coming down so hard you could barely see. I wanted to abandon the car and walk off the ride, but stuck it out.

Threatened to kill said friend after the ride. My sneakers were shot, my camera bag was soaked, and we had to go to dinner. Not my favorite meal of the trip.

But I can laugh about it all now and it will go into the canyon of lore about Disney memories.

Wow, I've been caught in some awful rain at Disney before, but the ankle-deep flooding is something I've never experienced (at Disney; I have experienced it elsewhere). I think that's one of those things that's like, you'll be soaking by the time you leave anyway, so might as well stay and enjoy the smaller crowds, maybe just buy some new socks after a while.

We've done this with hiking clothing out of curiosity, and the never wet made it so that it didn't breathe (like any other water proofed layer). It was extremely water-resistant, but in the heat and humidity we were soaked anyway because of the sweat that built up because the clothing didn't breathe anymore. YMMV.

Its a Florida rain. Down pours for 15 minutes then its like it never happened! :)

Actually the last 2 trips we were there it rained pretty hard and flooded the center of the walk ways in MK. The first time we sat through Philharmagic a few times and it cleared up. The second time we ate at Pinocchio Village Haus for about 45 minutes then road Its A Small World and when it was done the rain was clearing up. Both times after the rain clear it was like we had the park to ourselves!!
We got stuck in the Line for Kali River Rapids a few years ago. It started to rain and we thought, that's fine we were going to get wet anyway. After 25 minutes in line it was now down pouring and we found out they shut the ride down and were sending everybody away. From there it was a sprint to the buses. Glad we all brought 2 changes of shoes because those ones were trashed!

I knew the original NeverWet had issues with breathing as it pretty much made a second lining on what you used it on. They had a newer version out for fabric but from what I can tell it's a bit lack luster. A good poncho is still probably the best bet. But it would be fun to go on water rides and just walk off mostly dry.
