Hey everyone! So just checked the weather for our Anniversary getaway this weekend. They are calling for rain 3 of the 4 days we are going to be in the park. The rain doesn't scare me but wondering what every one's choice on what to use. Thanks for your input!

I generally bring both. Wal-Mart and Target both have disposable ponchos that are about $1 to 1.50 each. I rather throw them away at the end of the day than to try to put them somewhere to use later. I live in Florida and I pretty much never use an umbrella unless it is just drizzling, the rain is always coming in sideways or it's too wind to use it.

I usually bring two disposable ponchos per person for each trip. Bring a zip loc baggy to put them back in your backpack so everything doesn't get wet. When we head back to the room, I will hang them to dry, and then we always have a dry set.

Except when soaking wet poncho wearers sit on a bus or other dry area and leave it wet.

Ponchos. Rain falls on ponchos as well as umbrellas. Inconsiderate guests may spill rain from either onto a dry area another guests wants to occupy. Both make adjacent spaces wet. We also think umbrellas pose a safety concern.

Ponchos. I wish they banned umbrellas in the parks. Too many guests don't think beyond themselves or are just unaware of their surroundings.

I used my Marmot Precip rain jacket on my past trip and it worked well. I just shake myself off before going inside on a ride or shop, and for overnight I just turn it inside out to dry out. Folds up fairly small to put in my small camera bag.

A wet umbrella doesn't occupy an entire seat surface like a wet poncho wearer does. At most, the ground gets wet with an umbrella.

Considerate guests using an umbrella close the umbrella and shake the water on to the ground. Considerate guests using a poncho take off the poncho prior to occupying a space that will be temporarily occupied. Unfortunately, there are inconsiderate users of both types of rain protection. We have yet to see a poncho poke a nearby guest in the face, like we have seen with umbrellas. We guess it could happen, but we just haven't seen it.
