How long does a thunderstorm usually last in Orlando during early June, and what exactly does "a few thunderstorms" mean?Is it worth leaving the parks?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
15min -1hr give or take in the south in the summertime. (I also live in the south so know summer showers daily all to well lol) Usually does not last all day but it can as there are no guarantees what the weather will do. Lol ;)

Not sure if there is a big difference between May and June; but it stormed on us in May and it was over in 15-20 minutes. I didn't feel the need to leave, we just took shelter.

It can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 6 or 8 hours depending on the weather system. Plus the short systems move quickly. We were getting drenched in MK, so I called my kids who were at Epcot and they told me it wasn't raining. I told them to find something inside and sure enough 15 minutes later it poured there as well.

They're part of the fun! If you watch the weather in the morning, they usually give a pretty accurate timing of when a storm is gonna happen so plan to eat/ take shelter at said time. Usually it's just a 20 minute downpour and then sunshine again. Best time to go though. Hot rain.

But saying that, I've been in July before and we've had hardly any storms and it's been ridiculously hot.... Hotter than usual. So you can never predict how it will happen.

I'm from the area and all I can say is bring some kind of rain gear. This past week we have had some pretty heavy weather. Like someone said you really can't put a time frame on the rain. Our May was pretty dry for us but June begins the rainy & hurricane season. Welcome to Florida. Next week we are expecting a tropical low pressure (for now) system going to hit us. That normally means all day rain for a day or two. Try and find a local Orlando station like Fox and see what they have to say. Normally the local station is way better than anything else. We're going again in 2 weeks and are going to pack rain ponchos and umbrellas. Even in the rain you can have a great time...have fun.

Usually less than an hour but could be longer. Check weather .com or a similar sight with hourly forecasts. They are usually fairly accurate. When I was ther last Augist we had a night where a thunderstorm rolled in around 4pm (late afternoon is the typical summer thunderstorm time) but it never stopped. We were at DHS and it rained straight through until park closing with a lot of thunder. We still had a great time. Just put on ponchos and walked around in it. The lines were light and it was really cool approaching and then riding Tower of Terror while the sky in the background had actual lightening and thunder,

We NEVER leave the park. Rainstorms can be an inconvenience but can be planned around. There are many options to enjoy the parks and shops. Let everyone else leave and when the storm is over theres that many more people out of my way.

However, thunderstorms at a water park are awful. You have to stay huddled under little huts. Definitely to be avoided.
