So it looks like its going to rain May 12-18... On and off. I am ok with that. Coming from MN, I will take rain over anything we have had with the weather. I am wondering what parks are best to tour when it's raining. For example, if its an all day rain day, should we go to Magic Kingdom instead of Animal Kingdom just because it has more shade/cover? Thanks all! Let me know what you do...

Good Question, Every time I go it rains at least once a day it seems. If I had to say the worst park for a rain day would be DHS because it has more must see outdoor attractions that can be cancelled.
I think the best rainy day park is Epcot.

But, OP, do not despair. There is no way to be sure about rain this far out. Florida weather is notoriously difficult to predict, especially this time of year. Seriously, pay no attention to any forecast for a day more than one or two days out. Don't fret yet!
Make the most of your mornings! Even if it does rain, it usually doesn't rain in the morning.

If it's only rain, then most of the rides are open. The parks are all cleared out. It's really not that bad at all!

Fear not OP, even if it's a downpour you will have something many others do not, knowing that somewhere in some park during that time I too will be present in Disney! it's such an event Disney won't even announce it for LTM due to fears of crowds rushing the parks. ( as a bonus an extremely lucky few might even hear somebody screaming "it's my life" over whatever Aerosmith song is playing on rock n roller coaster, WHAT A TREAT!!!!!)

I would say Epcot is the best if its going to rain all day, because its not far to get from one country to the other and The Land, Nemo and Crush are near to each other. But I agree with most of the others the weather is so unpredictable that you just cant say how its going to be. Just go and enjoy it whatever the weather.

I find it sooo hard to do too. I'm so focused on wanting the trip to be perfect in every way. I'm clicking on the weather forecast, checking the weather history, comparing weather guides, grumbling about the chance of rain..... then the trip comes and the forecast usually is wrong and we barely lose any time cause of rain.I will turn the weather channel off
Will I ever learn? NO , I'm already researching weather patterns for my Sept trip..

Best park on a rainy day has got to be the magic kingdom, there is a lot to do within each land so you can hop on a ride while you are waiting for something to do. However if you are at epcot and stuck at future world if it starts to pour, well, good luck getting to the other side cause I got soaked trying to reach mexico.

I'm with you! No shame in saying when I found out I was going in November, one of the first things I did was check how rainy it normally was and what the average temperatures were.
We are dirt track racers and were supposed to have a big race today, the Weather Channel app has been my worst enemy this week. Stupid RAIN!!!
Good luck with the race. Hope you finish well. Sure makes a difference racing in the mud.
Been there as a spectator, and I admire the handling abilities in those speeds and circumstances.

MK, Epcot, and DHS are manageable in the rain. If it starts to downpour just head for a show or a ride that has a semi long line. Definitely avoid AK when it is raining since there aren't many places to take shelter for when it rains.

also dealing with these specific days looking at weather channels forecast it shows as sunny with afternoon shower ( that's nothing) I think the 12th has 10% precip chance and 0% listed Monday. granted its ten days away and I have no faith in the weather channel besides their ability to constantly lower the bar. still, not worth worrying over judging from the look of things. it's getting warmer and it'll eventually hit the point where this is a daily forecast for everyday and you get hit with a shower every couple days or so.

Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open if there's no lightning. In my experience, they're both pretty empty and the slides are still open.

I agree to get a good pair shoes. We were caught unaware the first day and the hotel room smelled like mildewed athletic shoes. But we all switched over to rain proof shoes. (I had some Teva sandals) Then we were fine. And get a poncho.
