Any rumblings of a reopening date? It is my husband's favorite and I was hoping for a reopen by September but as the days tick on it's seeming less likely without even any rumors
I’m with you @Jessica.stw ! We were all hoping it would be running FULL STEAM ahead by now. It’s kinda looking less likely it will be running even this year.Any rumblings of a reopening date? Disney is beginning to prep for the return of the Train. CM training will begin soon.

AAAAH Thank you!!No date yet, but see here -
They needed to do construction in the area for the infrastructure for the Tron build which encompassed the land the train ran through. The tracks the RR had run on have been pulled up and new tracks and composite ties meant to last longer are being laid down now, rerouting the trains route. The idea is for the RR to pass through the Tron area. So for the near future the train will not be running. There has been conjecture from some bloggers/posters that the RR may start up sometime to begin to run between the Main Street station and Fronteirland or possibly to the Fantasyland station.Love the WDW Railroad. A very underrated relaxing ride. Is it still down for now because of Tron? I am just wondering how they can't work around it? Serious question, I am not familiar with how much Tron impacts the railroad.

The railroad could be up and running pretty soon.... will take a few weeks of training / testing once it’s done but it’s definitely getting close to possibly being ready. There has been conjecture from some bloggers/posters that the RR may start up sometime to begin to run between the Main Street station and Fronteirland or possibly to the Fantasyland station.
Yes they could have but they didn’t. Is that from a cost saving plan? Have the engineers been in place all this time or were they furloughed for this extended time the RR has been down? The railroad could be up and running pretty soon.... will take a few weeks of training / testing once it’s done but it’s definitely getting close to possibly being ready.
If they had wanted to run in shuttle modes, they could have been doing that the whole time.
One reason for not running it in shuttle mode was that they rebuilt most if not all of the track, replacing the wooden ties with the new composite ties.Yes they could have but they didn’t. They built the trans-continental railroad in less time than this and they had to cut through mountains, bedrock and across rivers to do it.One reason for not running it in shuttle mode was that they rebuilt most if not all of the track, replacing the wooden ties with the new composite ties.
Now that’s funny! They built the trans-continental railroad in less time than this and they had to cut through mountains, bedrock and across rivers to do it.
Very doubtful but then again.... anything is possible these days.Any chance they have to keep the railroad closed for the Splash Mountain rework?
That’s because here they have too many chiefs and not enough indiansThey built the trans-continental railroad in less time than this and they had to cut through mountains, bedrock and across rivers to do it.
Actually, it took 6 years to build the Trans-Continental Railroad. From 1863-1869. It was built in 3 segments. Admittedly it was an ENORMOUS Challenge and Endeavor, but I don’t think we’re quite at the 6 year mark yet. Maybe a more appropriate construction example would be the Empire State Building. It took a mere 1 year and 45 days to build that. This Tron thing is certainly no Empire State Building. They built the trans-continental railroad in less time than this and they had to cut through mountains, bedrock and across rivers to do it.
