Raglan Road vs. Rose and Crown

Does anyone have any preferences or insights between the 2? We decided to do a last minute switch on one of our meal reservations and both of these places still had times available. Right now, we picked Raglan Road because they seemed to have a little more variety and are a little bit cheaper. But it would be fun to eat at Epcot too. What do you guys think?

I prefer Raglan. I think the food is better, and I enjoy the live entertainment (as does my kid).

R&C to me is great, but if I were to choose? Raglan.

I agree Raglan for a sit down meal for sure. R&C is great for a beer and a snack. Have fun!

We have ADRs for both this year. Raglan Road is just awesome!!! But, the fish n chips at Rose and Crown, in my opinion is a tad better. We d Raglan Road every year (Kiss Before Shrimp appetizer is a MUST) and Rose and Crown is the best spot to view Illuminations. The Pub at Rose and Crown is just about our fav spot in Epcot!!!

We've done both, and the only time I would choose R&C over Raglan is if you're able to get a later dinner reservation and sit outside to watch Illuminations. We did this last week and it was unbelievable! Raglan is a very different experience, but the food was great at both.

Raglan Road hands down here too -- much better food, bigger menu, and entertainment -- plus a much much larger establishment (it's easily 6 times larger) and gets a more fun crowd. Rose and Crown has good meals, but not as good as Raglan Road...its a twice a visit restaurant for me.

I've done both and prefer Raglan hands down. The live entertainment and atmosphere is fantastic!

From their web site. You got to check it out, it's very entertaining too.

We have obnoxiously talented entertainers from back home. But since the pub is so authentic, they have no idea they’re not still in Ireland. So you need to act really Irish to keep them from catching on – that means drink, howl, dance on the tables, drink some more and sing as you’ve never sung before. Thanks, we know, it’s a lot to ask.

If the quality of food is of concern, then Raglan Road is the way to go. Last trip we ate there for the first time and came away very impressed (Guinness Ribs anyone?) both with the food and the entertainment (step dancing and a band). R & C was very average food-wise IMO. But if Illuminations is on the docket and you don't mind a late dinner, it is one of the best spots to catch the show.

I am the odd ball here but raglan did nothing for me. We were there in 2006, and it was nothing to write home about. Whereas R&C is a must do for us. We enjoy the food much more and really love the atmosphere.

Although R&C has some good nights food wise we have also had some really rotten meals there too and service is more miss than hit. Never a bad meal at Raglan and we make our ressies for 8:30 or so that way we are still seated when the "spirited" music and dancing starts rather than the homogenized version that they have before 9:00.

I like R&C Fish and Chips better, but Ragland Road for the variety and atmosphere. We use our TS dining credits for Raglan Road and QS credits at R&C, as we can get our favorites in the pub.

Raglan has better food and better atmosphere, hands down. It does tend to be more of a gourmet twist on traditional British/Irish food, where R&C is much more straightforward, but I much prefer that.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Until our last trip, I would have said Raglan Road.
Now, I'm not so sure. Our last experience was horrible; the food was cold, soggy and undercooked; the service even worse; and we were rushed out the door.
There was a straight up "bar atmosphere" more so than dining establishment that evening (November 2012).
I am more inclined to return to Rose & Crown next trip, and shelf RR for a year.

I much prefer the Rose and Crown. I think the selections and food are better, hands down. (LOVE the bangers and mash!) Raglan Road does have live music, so if that's your thing, fine. But my last dinner there was only so-so, and the much-celebrated Bread Pudding dessert was very very meh. I have no idea what the fuss is about.
