I don't know about any other locations, but here in south jersey, radio disney is broadcast on an am station. now while am has its advantages (greater distance for same amount of power) the sound quality is really terrable for anything other than speaking. On the few occasions that i have turned on radio disney (just to check it out) i have a hard time understanding what is said, due to the am signal. am i the only person with this problem? does anyone else have a local station broadcast on FM?

Im pretty sure that am is a lot cheaper. It also depends on what your playing disney radio on. I dont regularly listen to it, to teeny boppy, but it sounds better on a stereo reciever. Most of them have a squarish antenna. I also think that disney radio buys cheap, and not very powerful radio towers, because the talk radio I listen to sounds so much better than disney radio.

I think you can listen it via Real Media Stream via radiodisney.com. I haven't done it in a long time, but they might have a feed over there.

They also play Radio Disney in every Walt Disney World Resort hotel room (Forgot what the channel was).

ok. i'm not really a fan of the stuff they play on there. my sister just likes the storytime show. i was just curious as to weather or not it comes in better anywhere else.

I can't say for sure, but if you have XM radio/satellite radio it will come in like clear FM....

i'm sure that it would, provided that xm carried radio disney. i really haven't followed xm at all, since aside from teh handfull of times that i have heard radio disney, i never listen to the radio. (i just don't like having djs pick out what i hear, when i have a 12 disc changer in my trunk, which gives me enough selection to shut me up.)

FYI,

I just went to xmradio.com and checked. Radio Disney is on channel 115 on xm. I don't have xm either, but for the sake of the discussion, I thought I'd check:)

Yes...XM does carry Radio Disney (radio/broadcasting geek here:lol: ) and it is digital crystal clear quality.

Now as far as "Traditional broadcasting" goes, it is dirt cheap to air Radio Disney on a low power AM signal...rather than a 50,000 watt FM stereo blowtorch. There was a low power AM station that was like bought a year ago here in the very tip of Northeastern Illinois..it was supposed to be a Low power disney radio station....but...after doing some reasearch..it would cost more that it was worth to do it...so It is back on the the market....and the station is silent.

as far as XM goes....my next car..(probly a GM product) I will get xm in it:)
