Hello All,
Just returned today from a short trip - 2/23-28. As of now, any inconveniences at the Poly are minor! We were in Fiji and the rehab rooms are great, especially the bathrooms - clean and classy! The only difference is that the view now includes the Grand Floridian DVC. We were last at the Poly in Sep 2011. Would rather have palms and beach, but not a biggie. The swing and the ducks still there!
The major construction for the Poly DVC is underway, but did not affect us, other than a slight detour walking to from the TTC. We know it will get more disruptive, but change happens. We will miss the fountain in the GCH, but are hopeful the change will still blow us away. The Cast Members we talked with were excited about the future, and equated the changes to the room rehabs. They advised it would start at the parking lot, and work its way back. Their positive attitude did not appear to be just pixie dressing for we guests - it seemed genuine!
A quick synopsis - positives first!
Poly CMs GREAT!!
Housekeeping - Great!
Eating- All wonderful meals at Kona, for dinner and breakfast
Raglan Road - simply wonderful ( a WDW entertainment exec, at a near table, had brought his parents there to have fun - 'nuff said!)
Kouzzima's - fantastic! (ask for Gladys!)
Jiko - great as always!
BOG - we loved it - our 2nd dinner there!
LOVED all the shows, especially the "British Invasion", and of course, "Voices of Liberty"! Treasures!
Minor negatives - a wee bit more crowded than we expected for the last week in Feb.
Sort of a biggie-
We have loved Magical Express, but in Oct and this trip, one of our bags took about 7 hours to arrive, NOT within the 3 hr time frame. Numerous calls - "It should be there soon, or within an hour", were wishful! Might do our own bags, and use the transport next time.
Overall - a wonderful trip (and we still consider the Poly our "home" at the World!)
Back to 20degrees - Brrrr!
Ch-Ears,
Bill
