Quick service Dining Plan...

Just thought Id share this for anyone whos interested.

For our trip last march we decided we would Try the Quick service Dining plan.
We got tired of the deluxe for a lot of reasons.

#1 hated that the adrs dictated the entire trip.

#2 TOO much food on that deluxe. My wife and i both like to watch what we eat and it becomes a food orgy after awhile.

#3 With such an age gap between our kids ages (ds7 dd 18) it became more difficult to keep everyone happy at meal times.

#4 Being Dvcers we have a Full Kitchen in our Villa that was going to waste.

So we tried it last trip and Really liked it.

We can wake up in the morning make eggs , toast and Coffee in the room and take the weather, crowds, and everyones wants into account before planning our day.

We are doing Quick Service again This Year and Im telling you that For us its a great choice and makes the entire trip more laid back and enjoyable.

We're paying out of pocket this next trip unless we get the DDP plan for free. Although, by all accounts, the Free DDP promo is gone for good. I priced the QS DDP and we would spend an extra $500 if we used the plan instead of paying out of pocket.

Wow..thats a Lot of money..My wife was thinking It might be cheaper that way too.

We have never used any dining plan and I can't imagine ever trying it unless it is free. We are just not that big into eating meals at certain times with ADR's, The QS places offer just the right amount of food, we even share some meals or order kids meals. We have a food budget that rivels most people souvenier budgets. I work hard to put aside money every year for the trip we take, if it comes to eating PB&J or staying home? I will eat PB&J and go. The place is so relaxing to me that the food just doesn't mean anything.

I LOVE pb&j and would Gladly eat it every day..especially if It meant i could spend more time at Wdw!!

I am very happy you found what works for now! That may change in the future!

Im sure when we are travelling with less kids over time as they grow up we will look at this a little differently.

More power to you but I do not want to make breakfast and wash dishes while I'm at the world! Just my preference.

Im with you on that But The amount of time and money we can save By utilizing the kitchen in our villa it just makes sense to do it. I wouldnt Cook a turkey on vacation but some eggs and toast is easy enough.

My husband hated just the QS plan! He felt like he was eating fast food all of the time!
He enjoys sit down meals. I guess I do too.

We really do enjoy the food when we do a sit down meal..although I can honestly say weve had a few Disappointing meals over the last few years. My wife and I are making an adr for just the two of us one evening and Im really excited for that.

Yeah. The QS DDP would cost us $1539 and paying out of pocket we will likely only spend $1032.

We use the QS plan and pay for Donald's Breakfast too. We actually had 7 QS meals leftover in May. So the regular meal plan is a waste for us because my family doesn't want to sit for a TS meal. Plus we wouldn't eat that much. We are going to price it out to see if we would save money but not getting a meal plan for our next trip.
