Quick service Dining Plan...

Just thought Id share this for anyone whos interested.

For our trip last march we decided we would Try the Quick service Dining plan.
We got tired of the deluxe for a lot of reasons.

#1 hated that the adrs dictated the entire trip.

#2 TOO much food on that deluxe. My wife and i both like to watch what we eat and it becomes a food orgy after awhile.

#3 With such an age gap between our kids ages (ds7 dd 18) it became more difficult to keep everyone happy at meal times.

#4 Being Dvcers we have a Full Kitchen in our Villa that was going to waste.

So we tried it last trip and Really liked it.

We can wake up in the morning make eggs , toast and Coffee in the room and take the weather, crowds, and everyones wants into account before planning our day.

We are doing Quick Service again This Year and Im telling you that For us its a great choice and makes the entire trip more laid back and enjoyable.

We're trying to QS plan for the first time during our 8 day stay next month, and I'm looking forward to it. With two little ones (8 months, 3 years), it just isn't feasible to spend a lot of time on table service meals. We have reservations for Donald's Safari Breakfast on morning, as my daughter loved that one on our last trip, but otherwise we'll mostly stick to QS.

We prefer the regular dining plan. Having one sit down per day is wonderful to us. It gives our feet a rest for a little while and some of the places have incredible atmospheres to dine in. I am a serious eater, like Adam Richman, but not as heavy. Even I think that the deluxe plan is waaaaaay too much food.

Should have mentioned That My wife and I made Adr's for just the two of us one night at Fultons Crab house.
With 2 young adults pulling us one way and a 7 year old pulling us another Sit down meals can be a real hassle sometimes..This way My Daughter can Take My son out for a few hours and we can sit and enjoy each others company and a Nice meal with no distractions!!

Well stated. :) We felt the SAME way about the dining plan, I just hated the constrains of always feeling like I needed to be somewhere to make an ADR. We tried the QS plan for the first time last May, and I will ALWAYS do this. It was such a great trip! Never had to worry about being somewhere at a certain time. It allowed so much flexibility!! Loved it so much we used the QS plan again when we went in December and will being using it again this June. My though is if there is a sit down location we really want to eat at (this June it's 50's Primetime) I'll make the ADR and pay OOP.

So much easier and I couldnt agree with you more...last Time we went on the Deluxe I gained 10 lbs.....in a week..thats just crazy. especially when you consider how much walking you do in a typical week at WDW!!

LOL!!! :D I don't think we could ever do the deluxe... Heck I feel like I hardly can find time to grab a quick bite let alone plan all those sit down meals each day. Plus if I ate that much food I'd have to get rolled back to my resort everyday! :p

We have never used any dining plan and I can't imagine ever trying it unless it is free. We are just not that big into eating meals at certain times with ADR's, The QS places offer just the right amount of food, we even share some meals or order kids meals. We have a food budget that rivels most people souvenier budgets. I work hard to put aside money every year for the trip we take, if it comes to eating PB&J or staying home? I will eat PB&J and go. The place is so relaxing to me that the food just doesn't mean anything.

My husband hated just the QS plan! He felt like he was eating fast food all of the time!:(
He enjoys sit down meals. I guess I do too.;)

We'll still eat at a couple of TS places. But this time, unless we get the DDP for free, we will eat mostly QS places. I still plan on eating at Sci-Fi Dine In and Chef Mickey's even without the free ddp. Those are must-do's for each of our trips. I may even go to Rose and Crown for lunch one day.

agree. Since this new plan started in 2005, we did TS and QS. We use to love the TS food so much. This last trip in Feb we wanted more Signature Dining so we went with Deluxe. This gave us TS for lunch and SD for dinner. The food was average at best. Even our favorite Yachtman Steakhouse missed up our order. We vowed off ADR and set down meals.

Next time it will be Quick Service.

We have always done reg dinning plan and that worked great for us, this time we booked room only and so meals are not apart of dinning plan. My youngest DS is 6 dislikes everything except cheese sandwiches and PB and J's so wouldnt make sense for us to have meal plan for him. We are brininging he fixings for his pb's ..my other DS is less picky, so we are doing more QS but still love our TS - so we are doing one every other day, this way we save but still have a nice sit down a few times while we are there.
