Quick Service Dining Plan Questions

My wife and I are going to be using a Disney dining plan for the first time when we visit in May. We decided to go with the Quick Service plan since we only plan on making 2 sit down reservations while we're there. I have a couple of questions about the plan.

1. What's the best way to keep track of how many meals/snacks you have used? Do they have it printed out on the receipt after you purchase a meal perhaps?

2. We will be arriving in the evening on May 13th. On arrival do we immediately start out with 2 meals and a snack regardless of what time we get there? (will probably arrive around 6 p.m.)

3. Lets say on our final day we had 2-3 quick service meals left over (which we most likely will since we are going to make 2 reservations), would we be able to offer the leftover meals to someone and pay for theirs? I thought that would be a cool thing to do rather than letting them go to waste.

Thanks!

1. Your running total of remaining credits will appear on each receipt you get.

2. You can start using your credits as soon as you've checked in. They are pooled and you can use them at any time during your stay. Your total credits are based on the number of nights on your reservation, not the number of days you're there.

3. Technically, you're not allowed to give your credits to others, but particularly with Quick Service, it's virtually impossible for them to stop you.

ALSO! If you have quick service meals left over, you might be able to grab a bunch of snacks for the way home!

On my last trip, I had a quick service meal left, and I asked the CM at Roaring Fork in Wilderness Lodge about it - and she let me grab a rice krispie treat, banana and bottle of water! :)

Trading them in for snacks is what we usually do as well! As of September, you got 3 snacks for each counter service meal when you traded them in. We love to get the Mickey Mouse shaped Rice Krispy Treats and bring them back for friends and family! But yes, using them to pay for a strangers meal could be equally as awesome. Have a great trip!

So how do you go about trading them in? Do you just approach a snack cart and tell them you want to use your leftover counter service meals for 3 snacks? Is this something they will do without question? Thanks!

The cast members are very helpful as well when you approach a quick service location.
If you are unsure of what you can get since it will be your first time, just let them know you are on the dining plan before you order. Even when I already knew what was included, I just said I was on the dine plan, and they would ask me which # meal I wanted, which drink, and which dessert.
Also for transferring counter service credits for snacks. Once again, just tell the castmember you are on the dining plan and you have counter service meals you would rather use as snacks. They should tell you how many you may use at their cart/location. Also most menus has a little dining plan logo next to the items that are considered snacks. This is helpful as well so you will know before you go up to order which items can even be considered snacks.

Have fun, the dining plan is great! You will be stuffed though!

That's what we do. We usually have enough snacks left over to fill a couple of bags with Cokes and snacks. Makes the long drive home much easier.
