Hey all. Still here at Boardwalk until next Sunday, but wanted to share this. I was speaking with one of the DVC agents in the lobby yesterday. We spoke for about 30 minutes. Now I'm just passing along what I was told, but when I mentioned the Grand Floridian DVC, she stopped me right there, laughed and promised me everything mentioned online about the GF is 100% false. They are NOT building a DVC at the GF. She said Disney is obviously building something, but it is definitely not DVC. Personally, I think she's crazy, or lying to try and cover their butts. My guess is they haven't yet sold out BLT or AKV and are afraid people planning on buying DVC will just hold out for GF.

Weird... I would definitely by your theory in your last sentence. Does anyone have facts/figures on how well AKV and BLT are selling? I feel like I'd have a harder time buying into BLT personally. It's a great location but they seem so...blah...and non Disney like, at least from most pictures I've seen.

When they released the concept art, did it specifically say DVC? I have a hard time believing it isn't...

What else could it possibly be? Does that hotel sell out so fast that it needs more rooms and buildings? The only other thing that I figure it might possibly be, if not DVC, is something like the housing development Golden Oak but on actual 'park' property? Condos as opposed to mini mansions?

they could be expanding the Grand Floridian hotel rooms.... but i second the notion it probably is dvc, but of course only time will tell.......

By any chance were her pants on fire? Just checking!

Given that I knew more about DVC than she did (and I'm still not a member), I'd say it's safe to say she's clueless. Question is, was her GF "info" a lie or lack of informtion on her part?

It's on the DVC member website. Definitely DVC.

I've seen the construction site in person. They are clearly building something there, and the only thing that makes sense is DVC. The way it's situated, it's not more rooms for the Grand Floridian itself. The only possibility is DVC.

Maybe the CM you talked to was being sarcastic?

Some people have odd ways of communicating. She might have been trying to be sarcastic but you didn't pick up on her tone. She also could have just been kidding around with you and she thought you knew she was kidding.

Very weird, indeed. o_O

Slightly off topic, but what do AKV and BLT stand for? I'm going out on a limb and assuming AKV is short of Animal Kingdom Villas, but when I read BLT, I think of the bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwich, not a resort.

DVC agents are the new bus drivers

Sorry if this is super obvious...but are you saying that DVC agents invent stories the way that bus drivers do...and say things that sound interesting but are not true?

I've encountered bus drivers doing this...pointing out plots of land and saying that such and such thing is coming there, when that's not really true. Seems like they like being chatty during the drive to entertain themselves and when there is no fact they can state they just make up an exciting story.
