Quick Resale Question

So I am buying 100 points at SSR on the secondary market. If in a couple of years I buy 100 more points at say BWV on the used market how does reservation system work? I know I can book 11 months out at my home resort, 7 months for others. So in my example above I could book SSR 11 months out with just 100 points or all 200 points? Could I book BWV 11 months out with all 200 points or just the 100 points I own there? Thanks!

You couldn't use your SSR points to book anywhere other than SSR at the 11 month mark. Unfortunately, each contract number is specific to the resort for purposes of the booking window.

OK makes sense and IMO is a fair policy. Those with higher priced / more desirable home resorts should have that first selection. I thought that was the case just wanted to confirm it. Thanks for the info. I do not go at crazy busy times of the year so I think 7 months will be fine. If not the SSR seems like a nice resort, being that close to Ragland Road is pretty sweet!

Be aware that some of the least busy times at the theme parks are among the most popular times for DVC members.

October during Food & Wine Festival is popular and nearly impossible to get at BCV or BWV if you don't own there.

Also the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are very popular.

Book DVC is very different than booking a cash room.

SSR and OKW often are the only resorts available on relatively short notice.

It also depends on the type of room you want. Studios then 2 bedrooms are most popular. The 1 bedrooms tend to be easier to book since they usually have the same occupancy as a studio but twice as many points. Also depending on the resort some 2 bedrooms are actually a studio and a 1 BR with a connecting door called a lock-off 2 bedroom. If someone books the studio it becomes just a 1 bedroom villa. Depending on the resort the views also matter. Like time of year, the more popular room views are not always the ones that book first since they are more points. At BWV it's usually easier to book a pool view room than a standard view since it's a lot less points.

Makes sense, I mean everything you brought up is exactly how I would book it. Less points for the same resort I mean :) Thanks.
